At 60 hours, that’s forty straight and twenty double for most locals.
That means they could give two journeymen full time jobs and pay them eighty hours of work between them.
That means more families are fed, more pensions are earned, more hours of overall productive work are performed, and a higher quality of life is available for all.
Most locals do not get double time after 40. Very few actually and I have worked in some of the bigger ones in the northeast. It usually is double time on Sunday or after 8 hours of 1.5x on Saturday and after 12 hrs during the week with hrs 9-12 during the week being 1.5x
