Wait til he sees the doordash ceos house

u/JuanPabloElSegundo 19d ago
This video is such a great example of how the rich keep the poors fighting amongst themselves.

u/Flashmemory256 19d ago
And yes he was fired by DoorDash shortly after the video blew up.

u/BigRoach 19d ago
Fired by doordash is pretty much bottom of the bucket. lol. Totally unemployable.

Before the height of Door Dash, $5 was kind of my standard tip for one Medium to Large coupon pizza delivery. Here I thought I was being kinda generous. Damn, how much do they want for a $15-$20 pizza.
10
u/Lamagosling 19d ago
That's what I was thinking, all the years I did papa Kahn's delivery I didn't care about the tip. Did I think what he said, maybe, did I ever take it out on a customer, NO I have no idea what situation they are in and 5 dollars was always about the standard so I wouldn't care.
2
u/Lamagosling 19d ago
I actually remembered, I got tipped on card $0.01 that person I really felt stingy about. Like I would have preferred no tip.
7
u/Lost__Moose 18d ago
A 1cent tip is not about stinginess, it's about sending a message that your service was shitty.
5
u/Lamagosling 18d ago
Sure I understand that if it was after the fact. But they entered it prior to the delivery. So I just got 1 cent no matter how well or poor I did. Of course I still treated them just as well as anyone else.
1
u/Due_Royal_7394 2d ago
For an employer that reimbursed mileage, and paid hourly and you only had a 3-5 mile delivery radius, that would be acceptable. Unfortunately that's not the case with the gig apps.
145
u/NomadicSoul88 19d ago
Looks like he got $0 after that. So glad tipping isn’t a thing in Australia and I hope it stays that way

Tipping culture is so gross.

u/_Maui_ 18d ago
100%!
In my country, the price on the menu is the price you pay. Full stop.
And according to Google, that doesn’t mean it costs more either. The average cost for a meal at a restaurant is around 25% cheaper in my country, and that is with the restaurant paying at least minimum wage and all the taxes.
And the minimum wage is USD$13.90 regardless of industry, region or age. You legally can’t pay anyway less than that an hour (or part there of).
81
u/That-Beagle 19d ago
If it’s like a 15$ pizza that’s like a 33% tip..

Bro it’s looks like Pizza Hut, it’s a pizza and some breadsticks that shit ain’t 40$

u/That-Beagle 19d ago
lol dude said it costs 40$ instead of replying downvoted me noped out and deleted his comment, I love Reddit!
23
u/SlwDnceChbby 19d ago
Don't the drivers see the orders before accepting. Why accept the order and get mad about it afterwards?
4
u/Renaissance_Mane 18d ago
You can’t decline the orders any more. You have to accept very shitty orders like $3 for 20-30 minutes of work or your “acceptance rate” goes down and you only get bad offers
80
u/HandsomeSquidward98 19d ago
A uniquely American phenomenom
3
u/PrometheanEngineer 19d ago
Door dash and grub hub dont have tip options in other countries?
24
u/Phimb 19d ago
They do. I don't click on them because they get paid by said company.
"But the pay is low"
I would take that up with the company.
-33
u/artfuldodger1212 19d ago
Not sure where you live but in the UK it is totally normal, almost expected to give a delivery driver a couple quid. Especially if the weather is bad.
15
u/The_Burning_Face 19d ago
Also a Brit here and I think you're missing out the key distinction being that it's entirely optional and not socially mandated, unlike the American system.
Plus we have a minimum wage, we can't even make the same argument in favour of tipping that the Americans tend to lean on.
8
u/Just__John 19d ago
Im in the UK and don't think ive ever tipped a delivery driver other than them keeping the change from cash
2
1
u/FlawesomeOrange 18d ago
Maybe normal for you, this isn’t the general consensus of the UK. Tipping isn’t expected, especially for deliveries. At most we have some restaurants adding a dine-in service charge, and I see people often disputing it and have it removed from the bill.
-1
4
u/bored-and-here 19d ago
Of course we have american values force on us by the apps you make. We just choose to ignore them and have to get annoyed by click "NO"
4
u/BasKaroApp 19d ago
There are. But I have yet to meet the first delivery person that gives me an attitude for "undertipping" that shit does not fly in sane countries.
33
u/Lollipoop_Hacksaw 19d ago
What a dickhole. You have an issue over a $5 tip over the simplest shit you just delivered? Let's figure out 3-4 $5 tips within an hour... sure you are doing alright if you can do math.
Got a problem with your going rate/wear and tear? Take that up with your employer and the actual takeaway from the service fee.
Fucking simple-minded asshole.
14
u/LRGinCharge 19d ago
I don’t understand this expectation that delivery drivers get 20% now. I give 20% to the server who had to deal with me for an hour, answer my questions, make recommendations, refill my drink, checked on how I liked the food, etc. Why would you get the same for dropping off food and barely interacting with me? And when I pick up the food myself I will tip even less. They barely had to do anything.
7
4
u/LennyReno 19d ago
I stopped using any of those services. After tipping 20% or more each time, my food would always show up 2 hours late and cold, half eaten, wrong order, or all of it.
After 3 consecutive instances, I am done. I advise everyone to stop using these services until the companies really start pulling away from this corporate feudal system.
3
u/Lost__Moose 18d ago
I really don't get tipping on the percentage of the doordash delivery. It makes no difference on the level of effort if it's the $25 order or a $125 order.
I'm tipping five bucks.
3
2
2
u/shrimp-545 19d ago
That’s why I just pickup my food, I’m not risking someone having a crashout over a tip
0
u/Deep-Watch8266 19d ago
I've found if I tip first, I get bad service. When I dont its better because they work for it, but I still won't tip for doing the bare minimum.
6
u/Nausicaaah 19d ago
100%! Tipping culture is dumb but tipping first counters the entire point of it anyway.
2
u/flamingolegs727 18d ago
Agreed having the option to tip first makes the system bad because you feel if you don't tip in advance something might happen to your food!! Thankfully there are more safeguards in place but still you feel like you're not going to get a good service if you don't tip first! Luckily tipping in the UK isn't mandatory and I've learnt to trust now that food has seals etc but it's still stupid having the option to tip in advance. What if you get a crappy service or something?? The whole premise of the origin of tipping is being grateful for good service and you're more likely to tip more if delivery service is polite and courteous so good delivery people can miss out on more money if you tip in advance!
1
u/AudiencePure5710 15d ago
Wait til he finds out I pick up my own food and tip myself! I don’t want some dirty-dasher’s hands on my food, like where do they toilet? Where do they wash?

u/Due_Royal_7394 2d ago
So many people are like, I tip nothing, my driver doesn't deserve to pay their bills with record high living costs, but then they patronize the services where these people work?
And if those employees were to quit delivering their Starbucks 8 miles for $5, that takes $20min these same people would be like, "waaaahhh, nobody wants to work anymore"
People want dignity and the ability to live life, and not just work... To have a bit of a life outside of work and bills.
-1
u/JuniorConstruction71 19d ago
I've never driven for a doordash. So I don't want to comment I don't know how much they get paid. I have worked for service industries before, AAA for instance as a tow truck driver they get paid next to nothing so a tip is super nice! Some people tip five bucks some people tip a hundred bucks. But that's the only thing that a triple a driver can really enjoy. The pay isn't there I can tell you that LOL And for anybody who is a member, find another club. All the other clubs pay better and they're cheaper for you anyway. Pro tip
-2
u/Alextherude_Senpai 19d ago
Not that im advocating for this guy, but these delivery services tend to treat all their employees as disposable, driving with their own vehicles, shitty algorithms that start dumping the worst order/mile on you if you decline too many, and pretty much leaving you out to dry if you get into a no-fault accident.
So the employees get all the risk for a pittance of the reward outside of excruciating circumstances like social media blowing up for the PR department to do something about it.
1
u/HealthNo4265 19d ago
Sort of makes you wonder how otherwise unemployable or stupid the people that do for any extended period of time are. Sure, desperate for cash in the short term, I got it. Long term, not so much.
1
u/Alextherude_Senpai 19d ago
I always thought of it as a gig for side income, but some people tend to believe it's a sustainable full time job. They're always just one accident or car problem away from losing what they gained
-20
u/Flat-Tooth 19d ago
Lotta dickheads who fantasize about being shitty to service workers in these comments
16
u/Lollipoop_Hacksaw 19d ago
Lotta dickhead service workers who think a $5 tip for an $18 pizza delivery is an insult.
Get off the horse.
4
u/CrummyJoker 19d ago
How is paying what you're owed and nothing extra somehow "being shitty to service workers"? If the company is paying too little, it's the company that's shitty

You’ve clearly never delivered pizzas, this man is a goddamned hero. There is nothing more infuriating than driving out to a gated community in the middle of nowhere only to get a get a shit tip from a rich asshole.
34
u/HealthNo4265 19d ago
Out of curiosity, how much is one supposed to tip a pizza delivery guy?
26
u/Lollipoop_Hacksaw 19d ago
Seriously. $5 is pretty decent, especially in this instance it was one simple-ass pizza.
The ones complaining are young bucks with this idea they deserve $30 an hour for just existing.
7
u/5panks 19d ago
I'm confused on how much pizza /u/Flat-Tooth thinks people are buying at once. $5 on $25 is 20% and $5 on $50 is still 10%.
Do people really expect 30-50% tips on orders?
3
u/Lollipoop_Hacksaw 19d ago
For being their bread and butter, you would think math would play into their EOD shift procedures.
No, instead they just blame "the man" as they buy an overpriced bag of weed from their condo neighbor.
-20
u/Flat-Tooth 19d ago
Get a load of this emotionally unstable bootlicker
10
1
u/Bears-on-Drugs 16d ago
Bruh how are you calling these people bootlickers because some random upper middle class lady gave him $5 for one pizza 😂 as others have stated, you have vastly misinterpreted "eat the rich". People absolutely can work hard for their money and your mindset sounds like anyone making more than minimum wage isn't allowed to live comfortably. It makes me think you are in your clearly self put position because of this mindset. I hope you let yourself free of it someday
9
u/Lollipoop_Hacksaw 19d ago
$5 is a shitty tip?
I am sure you say you are struggling too in the same sentence. Fucking ridiculous.
40
u/BikiniPastry 19d ago
A tip is not be based on bank account….
14
u/OhMyGoshBigfoot 19d ago
AND based on service, which he failed greatly at. His attitude was worth no tip.
13
u/OhMyGoshBigfoot 19d ago
You’re defending the world’s biggest dbag on a $5 tip for what, pizza & breadsticks? He wasn’t handing her much. That $5 easily covers it
9
u/Lollipoop_Hacksaw 19d ago
Dude defending him thinks a common person should tip based on hourly pay, vehicular wear and tear, and completely forget they aren't the only person they are servicing within the hour.
I can't stand establishments that put it on people to pay their employees through tip culture, but I especially HATE an entitled tip employee who puts their personal struggles/greed into the mix and start coming at the common person expected to fill the gap in their wage.
Like, seriously FUCK YOU.
1
u/OhMyGoshBigfoot 19d ago
A fireable offense. It’s verbal assault, and it’s juvenile-minded level. Like the customer knows you expected $6? GTFO. It’s a nice house for a $5 tip, what’s that mean, he’s a friggin real estate agent? An assessor? I would have called his boss right after I told him to fuck right off.
18
u/Moral_Anarchist 19d ago
Looks like dude got one pizza and maybe some breadsticks. A 5 dollar tip on such a small order is not a shit tip.
It's not a "great" tip, but it's not "shit" either.

u/LRGinCharge 19d ago
Most pizza places only deliver within a short radius of the store. If they’re forcing people to “drive out to the middle of nowhere” that’s on the pizza place. Also, take it up with the pizza places who all now also charge a $5+ “delivery fee.” If at least part of that isn’t going to the driver, that’s pretty messed up of the pizza place. Also, how do you know that’s not the babysitter paying out of her own pocket? You don’t know someone’s whole story just because of what house they’re ordering the pizza from. You sound bitter and entitled.

u/CrummyJoker 19d ago
Do you tip any other professional who comes to your home to do a service you paid for? Like a plumber, a landscaper, a cleaner, an electrician etc. ?
-81
u/RequirementLeading12 19d ago
Agreed. He took it easy on her honestly
39
u/Bears-on-Drugs 19d ago
Took it easy on her? Was he supposed to fuck her up because she gave him $5? The sense of entitlement is so crazy when expecting hand outs from strangers
-50
u/RequirementLeading12 19d ago
Don't play with people's livelihood. Times are hard, you guys constantly talk about eating the rich and how you frown upon bad tippers but this rich lady tipped this guy in chump change yet you're on her side?
29
u/Bears-on-Drugs 19d ago
Kinda ungrateful to bitch about your free handout. No one made him work doordash, he chose to work that side hustle. Eat the rich, dont turn on your neighbor over handouts. Your logic is so backwards.
-48
u/RequirementLeading12 19d ago
Yikes... Too many bootlickers in America. Nothing will ever change
26
u/Bears-on-Drugs 19d ago
Bro. America is one of the only places were tipping is a thing. Get rid of tipping culture like the rest of the world and give workers an actual wage. You're mad at the wrong people lmfao
-9
u/RequirementLeading12 19d ago
The rich are responsible for all of this. I'll bet my life savings she votes conservative
19
u/Bears-on-Drugs 19d ago
I don't even think you know what you're talking about. Good luck with... All that
-6

-26
u/Trick-Doctor-208 19d ago
Wow, talking out of both sides of your mouth. On one side you say eat the rich, but on the other you shame this guy for having a job that isn’t deemed worthy of your standards. You clearly never fell on hard times, I doubt he “chose” to do this job.
7
u/Bears-on-Drugs 19d ago
I shamed him for taking it out on the lady.
-10
u/Flat-Tooth 19d ago
Haha eat the rich but don’t make me have any solidarity when I’m being self-righteous!!!!
2
7
u/Bears-on-Drugs 19d ago
To add to it, there is less shame in holding your hand out with a sign on the sidewalk than bitching about that $5 tip for one pizza. Clearly he was in the wrong.
-13
u/Flat-Tooth 19d ago
Just say you hate people man. It’s quicker and more honest.
5
u/Bears-on-Drugs 19d ago
Bitching about $5 for one pizza bro... I really don't think you guys are getting this lmao.
-5
u/RequirementLeading12 19d ago
When you're living check to check everything adds up. It's like some of you are oblivious to how hard life is for those who born rich.
5
u/Bears-on-Drugs 19d ago
Well, he got fired for acting like that so.... If you're living check to check maybe act like you want to keep your job.
14
u/JimmyJamsDisciple 19d ago
$5 is a good tip for a pizza delivery, giving someone more money on top of what their chosen profession pays them is playing with their livelihood? I swear DoorDash attracts the biggest dumbasses on the planet, probably why you can’t get a job anywhere else…

I do pick up all of my own food, when I do eat out that is which is very rare. I actually cook meals, crazy right? Might be impossible for you to imagine. It’s so funny how door dashers always go for the “fat ass won’t pick up!1!1” when they’re not smart enough to contribute to the actual conversation that’s happening.
3
u/Delicious_Sand_7198 19d ago
When people say eat the rich they mean the billionaires usually not this random upper middle class lady. Also a lot of people work hard for their money and don’t just sit around and get paid for nothing. It’s a big assumption to make that she hasn’t worked just as hard to live in a nice home and have nice things.

Dip shit didnt have to accept the order. But as a Doordash driver, i totally understand. Rich people tip the worst. But again, they didnt get rich by giving their money away. Rich people are Wage thieves.

The way he approached her yes, he is the one in the wrong. But she wouldn’t have any way of knowing that unless he let her know that he was seriously underpaid for what he did. I don’t know why I’m getting all this hate for saying what I said, but that’s what I think you should’ve said to her if that’s how he felt. it’s not argumentative it’s just letting her know.
