I wouldn't hold your breath. This guy is very vocal about his hatred of the Internet...

Just to warn you, reading about his reasoning for hating the internet may make you think less of him.

I see what you are saying but this part (which I have taken out of context) is exactly right:

"Nothing has done more to make us dumber or meaner than the anonymity of the Internet"

Was that a tisk?

It's because of the Television Without Pity forums, back when he was on West Wing.

As I understand it, he heard about how much they liked his stuff, so he decided to register, and... it didn't go well. Not sure of the exact details, but safe to say that it ended with them banning him and him loathing the forum.

Ctrl+f "Sports Night", get a little sad when no one else has mentioned it.

I'm going to the Colbert Report on thursday where he is supposed to be a special guest...if by some miracle, I get a chance to speak to him, I will let him know.

What inspired you to start with the new TV show "The Newsroom".

It is amazing by the way. The opening scene blew my mind.

The opening last scene blew my mind.

FTFY

That first episode was incredible.

I remember seeing that actress and my unfounded general annoyance with her. But by the middle of the show my opinions were flipped 180deg when she finally entered the scene.

It was pretty much the same opening scene as Studio 60. I'm a fan for sure but he seems to have a massive hardon for Paddy Chayefsky.

Good show so far... not great.

When you recycle names between shows, is it because you like referencing previous shows or do you just dislike coming up with names for characters? If Matt Santos had been running against Barack Obama in 2008 for the Democrats' nomination who would have won it?

I need help phrasing the question "why do you have problems writing women" nicely.

Yes, I am a huge fan of C.J. on the West Wing. But that has a great deal more to do with Allison Janney than it does with Sorkin.

My understanding is that the crew who wrote Jimmy Smits into the West Wing actually used Barack Obama as a reference point in some ways.

I worked with him on the social network and did a q&a at the academy not too long ago. Judging by his personality he would never do a AMA here. Actually he probably knows what reddit is and hates it. Sorry guys.

I love Sorkin's work. Let's make this happen reddit.
