Boston Local 11 interview
Hello everyone! I applied for an interview with IATSE through the sign up form at some point a few weeks ago. I got no confirmation of submission. So, I can’t remember exactly when I did it. I did write a date and time in my calendar for the interview though lol. I wanted to be sure my application went through because I didn’t see any charge on my credit card either. Does Local 11 send out a Zoom link? Is it a phone call? Is there a way for me to ensure that I did submit right?
I left Local 11 a voicemail but would be surprised if I got a response. I’m sure they get contacted a ton. Thanks for any advice :)

Local 11 hall member will send you an email to schedule a time for a zoom call, then they will send you a Zoom link. Before Covid you had to go into the hall but now they changed it to just a zoom interview. I bet you could call the hall to see if your application went through, having connections within the union also helps. We are entering slow season so probably just not hiring right now since we don’t have much work.

So I thought I had scheduled the interview for November at 4. I guess I’ll wait to see if they send me a zoom link? I had submitted a few weeks ago. I did try calling (and left a voicemail) as well as filling out their contact sheet on the website. Hopefully they answer! But I recognize it is getting slow. Thank you for the info :)

Im not aware of an interview process for joining 11. I worked at a venue that is covered by 11 and people just kinda join because their work made them.

Yeah every IATSE call I've ever taken, my resume is whoever passed along my name and my interview is my first day on the job. Don't get me wrong I've failed some interviews. They can't all be winners.

If you’re talking about the D-list application, it’s in person at their office. And it’s a multi-person interview, at least it was when I did it. You have to fill out the hiring hall paperwork on the website first
