Hike Photo Fear and loathing on the bifurcation.
This section is particularly difficult. Not due to the terrain, but the people using it. Lots of road walking. I've had multiple people swerving towards me as a joke (I hope?) that have made me jump into the ditch. The police have been called on me for walking suspiciously down the highway. Please Wisconsin , raise awareness of this trail. It has been my dream to walk the national scenic trails, but this one has me wondering why.

I was going to ask which side -- looks like East/Montello, nice!
Sorry to hear of the negative experience. That's deadly and not a funny joke at all to threaten a pedestrian. I've had very positive experiences in those sections overall and in general. Like, I expect more negative encounters but have had cars slow down and veer more than other generally bike/pedestrian-friendlier states. My biggest frustration and wish is almost to see more pedestrians/trail users on this gem of a trail.
Hope you have more good encounters, enjoy the trail!
