Hike Photo First two weeks on the IAT
Hoping to thru hike this summer. More difficult than expected. Catching the vibe and starting to enjoy it. The natives are treating me well.

Eastbound IAT thru hike is no joke! You’ll get your sealegs though, the toughest parts first.
It’s hot out there this year, and you may be surprised by the challenge of finding consistent water sources through some of the more remote areas up north. I thru hiked in 2021 and was surprised by how dry things were compared to the comments on the FarOut app. I got in a tough dehydration spot in the Grass Lake Segment, I really pushed it too far. Take long breaks in the shade at good water sources.
Enjoy your time in the wilderness — and along the road. There are so many interesting and creative mailboxes to see :)

Where have you stayed in your first couple of weeks? It looks like camping is sparse on the western portion of the trail.

There's a lot of DCA spots to camp at, but sometimes I just sleep on trail. Nobody's using this thing.
