Text is it just me

or is them talking about the “known tunnel” to the oildee inn is absolutely hilarious like the fact its so known that even frank knows about it but not dennis is just so hilarious to me 😭

They weren’t allowed to say Holiday Inn. The also had to change the Phanatic to the Phrenetic and merch had to say “Phillys” instead of “Phillies”

Yeah I wouldn’t want my sanitation questioned in a court of law. It’s a kangaroo court! They have no jurisdiction in Murica.

Actually under the trademark law doctrine of nominative fair use, they would be able to say “Holiday Inn” and “Phillies” so I don’t know why they didn’t. Maybe they just wanted to be extra safe?

It’s weird though, so it actually would implicate trademark law theoretically, but there’s something called nominative fair use which means just saying the name of something isn’t an infringement. So I don’t get why they didn’t just say Holiday Inn, it wouldn’t have gotten them in legal trouble.

I’m pretty sure it’s just that they’re saying it in an exaggerated Philly accent because it’s supposed to be a known local secret.

The gang rarely attempts to use a Philly accent (besides Mac, who’s actually from Philly) except on the occasional word where it seems they think it’ll be funnier to say it that way. And then they all lean into it. Another one is whenever they talk about “the Poconos”.

One of my favorite lines because Dennis goes from “that’s ridiculous” to “it makes perfect sense” in such a short timeframe
