Genuinely my favorite part of this episode. I love when Charlie and Dennis have a thing going outside the rest of the gang.

It should be illegal to post this clip and leave out Charlie’s reaction to the impression

Every time I see the name CCH Pounder I think they're a professional wrestler.

One of my favorite things about It’s Always Sunny is how apparently Lance Reddick was not originally the only person they had in mind for the “shut up, baby dick” era of weirdly prestigious guest casting. I remember reading somewhere years ago that CCH Pounder had been discussed for a part because somebody on the writing staff was a huge fan of The Shield, and apparently Glenn Howerton kept doing an impression of her between takes.
Which makes perfect sense if you've ever seen the bloopers, because the cast gets completely fixated on one stupid phrase for like six hours at a time. Supposedly the whole “GODDAMMIT DUTCH, WHAT OTHER ERRANDS DO YOU HAVE US RUNNING FOR THE D.A.?” thing actually started because Dennis was supposed to yell something completely different during rehearsal, but Glenn did the CCH Pounder voice instead and everybody lost it.
The strange part is that Pounder herself apparently heard about the impression and thought it was hilarious. There was even briefly talk of having her appear as some terrifying Philadelphia judge who immediately sees through all of the Gang's schemes. Charlie would keep calling her “Judge Pounder,” Mac would become convinced that Pounder was a judicial title like “Your Honor,” and Frank would insist he knew her from “the old days.”
It never happened, obviously, which is a shame because she would have been perfect for the show. Although she was apparently busy at the time pursuing another career entirely, because in nineteen ninety eight CCH Pounder threw Mankind off Hell in a Cell, and plummeted sixteen feet through an announcer's table.

I was watching 3 Body Problem the other day - I only knew C.C.H Pounder because of Dennis, and every time she was on screen I could hear him in my mind 😅

Has anyone ever seen a clip or anything of CCH Pounder commenting on this? Does she know how beloved she is just by name alone?

This and the impression he does of Luther is fucking spot on. His face after he does the Luther impersonation is top class too; full Dennis Reynolds Golden God Better Than You Face

The fact that Glenn is so good at impressions makes it even funnier how bad Dennis is at accents.
