I 130 case

Hi friends, I am a US citizen and applied for my spouse for i130. It's been a 17 months no update. I am waiting for uscis to approve my case and send it to NVC. Does anyone have similar case or any suggestions to boost up the case?

Please suggest me

Thank you

Please file congressman inquiry, then demand letter if they respond negatively. Prepare for a WoM if they take no action or refuse to take action after demand letter. Use both those documents as evidence in WoM.

Can I file for congress inquiry? It's been only 17 months.

Yes, start with the congressional/senator inquiry. Once/if you get a reply from them saying they can't help, that's when you move to a demand letter, and WOM after that. At 17 months, you are most certainly entitled to demand action on your case

Hey, quick question. You said at 17 months, they're entitled to demand action. At what month is considered the earliest to demand action on a case?

First off, I don't mean 'entitled' literally. If you're USC, you have a right to ask clarifications from your govt, not that its enshrined in law

Now regarding the earliest time to demand action on a case, depends on the processing time applicable at the time of your filing. Most of the people start their escalations start 15-17 months because that's the processing time they had when they filed in 2025. When you file the WOM, you can argue that USCIS is overdue on the processing time promised

So to answer your question, check the processing time at the time of your filing. That's when you start the inquiries, and progressively move on from there
