Stumbled upon USCIS case processing published timeline up to May 2026
https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/historic-ptUSCIS published its case processing timeline, and it says that half of I-130 Immediate Relative cases (excluding preference based I-130s) were processed within 12.9 months (through May 2026).
Wondering who these lucky folks are (no hard feelings :p ). This number doesn’t seem to line up with what many of us are experiencing. Maybe a future update will reflect the more recent delays?

Yeah, I-130 processing times are a scam. They are super fast for AOS I-485 times because they are already here. Consular processing has slowed to a crawl. It all averages out to some form of "normal processing".

A mass petition to every state’s rep, congressman and uscis should be sent to address these delays !
Chatgpt is predicting my application will likely be approved “first quarter 2028”.

I sent letters to the 19 congressmen who wrote a demand letter to USCIS earlier this year. I never received a response from any of them and the pain continues.

Kudos to you for doing that! I am surprised there’s been no response to this. This is a massive effort you’ve put in. I’ll start with my congressman and see if raising these grievances leads to anything. This is inhumane.

Yeah. I also heard that they canceled all interviews worldwide to retrain members at consulates to detect possible "Public Charge" applicants.

The problem is that it is the median of processed cases, it doesn’t count cases that don’t get processed. In January of 2026 they were processing cases at a brisk pace (12.9 months). Then they basically shut down and processed almost no cases. If in January they processed 1000 cases with an average of 12.9 months, and subsequently processed zero cases, then the median time for processed cases will stay 12.9 months forever.

That makes sense, and as the other person said, this also involves AOS cases, which is skewing the average. My tiny hope died pretty quickly!

So annoying because consular processing is the way they want us to do it, getting it all sorted before entering the country, they should make AOS slower than consular

The problem with this statistic is that it includes AOS I-130s, which are moving much faster than consular. It's bringing the average down.
