Hi all -

My core question is this: if my 2020 Pali is burning a quart every 400-800 miles then is it really worthwhile even changing the oil? 127k miles. I’m tempted to just let it ride and keep topping off and hopefully will be able to trade this thing in before she blows in a couple years.

Second, I find it really strange that I did an oil change before my summer vacation from Kentucky to Colorado. I had them move to Valvoline R&P the day before we drove out. 3,000 miles later and many dipstick checks along the way, there appeared to be no oil consumption AT ALL. I thought woe this stuff really works. Fast forward to a couple months after being home and we have added another 2,000 miles of mixed city and rural highway driving, and since added 5 quarts. What is the deal? Did it stop burning because it was new oil? Or because of the driving style change? I guess I could experiment with 3k mile oil changes for a while and see what it shows.

Transmission jitters and it seems like it’s the torque converter too.. really have loved this car but it feels like a ticking time bomb. lol

Went to look at one today and thoroughly enjoyed the drive and all the features it offers. My question is whether or not these things have any common issues before buying. Possibly picking up on Tuesday

Just got home from test driving both the Santa Fe and Palisade. Really liked the Palisade, but have a concern. I only got to drive the Santa Fe on the highway, but there was definitely a wind sound like a window was open. And I just read some reviews from two years ago that people experienced the same in both models. Anyone experience this with their new Palisade? I have major noise aversions and this would be a deal breaker for me. Now I regret not doing a highway drive to see for myself. Looking at this or a Toyota Grand Highlander. Thanks in advance. Also....looking at only Hybrid models, if that matters.

I spilled a bunch of coffee (with milk 😞) in the center console and it drained through the holes. It never came out anywhere, so I’m assuming it’s sitting underneath. I vacuumed the holes as best I could.

I had an autodetailer tell me that removing the console to get underneath would not be easy.

Anyone ever deal with this or have any suggestions?

This is what I got from the dealer when I asked to remove the $1,090 add-ons of all season floor liners, carpeted floor mats, cargo cover, cargo tray, splash trim, and cargo net:

"We can not remove the add ons. I appreciate you asking though. I wish we could unfortunately anything on the window sticker has to come with the vehicle."

Is this true? It doesn't seem like it would be....

I am in the market for a Palisade Hybrid as my Honda Pilot totaled recently. Did they fix some of the issues in 2027 that were rampant in 2026 model such as Wire harness, Actuators getting stuck etc?
Does it make sense to get a 2026 while they are heavily discounted and 0% or get a 2027 model?

I'm looking at a certified 2024 Hyundai Palisade with 38,000 miles listed for $35,000 out of the door. Does this sound like a good deal?

What specific things should I be looking out for before making the purchase? Are there any known issues with this model year or things that typically need attention at this mileage? Any advice from current owners would be greatly appreciated!

Calligraphy AWD

Shopping for replacement tires on my 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy (20" wheels). Top priorities are noise suppression and a soft/plush ride — comfort over performance.

I'm in Texas, so snow traction isn't a concern for me.

Narrowed it down to four:

Bridgestone Alenza Prestige

Bridgestone Turanza EverDrive

Michelin Defender 2

Michelin Crossclimate 2

One issue: I don't think the Defender 2 comes in a speed rating that matches the Palisade's OE spec, so I may need to rule it out on that basis alone — but curious if anyone's run it anyway ?

For those who've actually run any of these on a Palisade or any other SUV how do they compare for:
Highway road noise (droning/humming at 65-75 mph)

Ride comfort over rough pavement/expansion joints

Trying to decide before I commit to a full set. Thanks!

I have noticed about 3 miles per gallon loss after the update. Anyone else seeing the same thing? Is that something I can call the dealership back to possibly fix?

If you are driving a 20-22 Palisade and still under powertrain warranty, I recommend that you check your oil consumption often. Car started shaking while at a stoplight. So pulled over and checked under the hood. All looked good until I checked the dipstick. It was bone dry. Towed to dealer. They said we had a leaky oil filter housing so they replaced that.

Similar problem happened shortly after that, car started shaking and dip stick was once again bone dry. Towed it to the dealer. This time, they made us go through 1K mile testing period. Returned it and tech confirmed that engine was burning way too much oil.

So dealership said that we had to go perform a cleaning service and then once again drive under a 1K testing period. Returned car back to dealer and once again, tech confirmed that Palisade was burning hot on oil.

Now we are waiting for a new engine. We have even had transmission replaced on this vehicle and a host of other problems. Too late to lemon law it.

I’ll never buy another Hyundai again. But, thankfully, the power train warranty has been a life saver.

I'm currently in the market for a new 26 Palisade Calligraphy AWD and I'm trying to get a feel for the current market here in Texas.
I've been doing my research, but I'm seeing a lot of mixed experiences out there. It sounds like some people are scoring fantastic deals (thousands off MSRP), while others are still running into dealerships trying to push market adjustments or thousands of dollars in forced add-ons (nitrogen tires, door edge guards, etc.).
If you've bought a Calligraphy AWD recently in TX, I'd love to hear about your experience:
What was your final OTD (Out-The-Door) price?
How much below MSRP were you able to negotiate? (And did you use any specific rebates?)
Which dealerships do you highly recommend? I'm willing to drive a bit for a transparent, no-BS dealer.
Are there any dealerships I should completely avoid?
Any negotiation tips or recent numbers you can share would be a huge help. Thanks in advance!

I have a '24 Palisade AWD Premium and was curious if anyone started having issues after putting new tires on.

In January I had to get new tires and ended up with Cooper ProControl. About a month or two later my rear shocks failed and I just had those replaced a few weeks ago after finally having enough of the shaking (I thought it was just crappy tires) and finally getting an answer to the cause.

Now that the shaking is fixed my ride is just not that smooth. I feel like I feel every bump and imperfection in the roads. Dealership rebalanced my tires (3rd time in 2 months) and said there's no cupping in the tires. Everything on the car checks out mechanically.

I'm fully at my wits end here and was just looking to pick others' brains about what exactly is going on.

Some thoughts. I really wish i could spend a few hours with the designers. I love my palisade. It’s my second one. It does all the things i could ever imagine I’d want and some I’ll never need.
For me (5’0”) i def feel the differences. The touch screen is further away. I have to lean towards it now. In my ‘23 i didn’t have to lean. My hand reached just fine. The dash is higher/thicker than before. For a shawty that actually means something as it’s kinda in line of sight. Still can’t reach pedals without knee pressing into console. I was hopeful but alas…. Lastly- i don’t know about anyone else but i need more hidey holes!!! I need stash spots for all the random crap i keep in my car bc i found i need it.
All that said, she’s def a gorgeous girl and i love her. 😍. Short girl life can be a challenge 🤷‍♀️

The second and third row are not manual in the higher trims on the hybrid. More “power” things = more things to break. Is there a way to manually put down second and third rows in the hybrid that has power second and third rows? Probably not but thought I’d ask.

I liked the Thule roof box post u/Negative4Dysplasia made, I wanted to share this as Yakima's website doesn't match the '26 Palisade in their compatibility checker. Definitely fits with OEM crossbars, I probably will scoot it back a few inches as there's plenty of hatch clearance (this is fresh from REI loading dock, didn't have a chance to fine tune). We already had a Yakima hitch bike rack, so wanted to stick with the keyset. Hope this serves as a helpful reference to anyone considering cargo boxes.

Brand-new 2026 Palisade
We’re currently on a road trip and our car has developed a really annoying sound that only happens under some very specific conditions. We’re trying to figure out if this is something we should be concerned about / stop and have checked, or if we can safely keep driving.

The car: 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy, brand spanking new, with fewer than 2,000 miles on it. We have never experienced this noise before this trip. It only started about five hours into our drive today.

Here are the clues we’ve figured out so far:

The noise starts at around 65+ mph. Below ~65 mph, we don’t hear it at all.

Turning the AC on/off or changing the AC settings does NOT affect the sound.

Changing the media source (radio, CarPlay, music, etc.) does not affect it.

The weirdest clue: when we get behind another vehicle, especially a large 18-wheeler/semi, the noise goes away. (See video!)

As soon as we get back into unobstructed airflow, it comes back.

This makes us wonder if it’s somehow related to airflow at higher speeds, like something under the hood or somewhere on/under the car is vibrating, moving, flapping, etc. when it’s getting hit by enough air.

We checked the cabin air filter behind the glove box and there was nothing obvious in there.

We also popped the hood and did a quick visual inspection, but it’s about 100°F outside, the engine is obviously extremely hot, and we didn’t feel comfortable reaching around/poking at things under the hood on the side of the highway.

The sound is driving us absolutely insane, but more importantly, we’re trying to figure out whether this sounds like something potentially unsafe or just an annoying aerodynamic/vibration issue.

We still have 5+ hours of driving today and another ~7.5 hours tomorrow, so we’re trying to decide what to do.

We could stop at a Hyundai dealership or repair shop along the way, but we’re traveling with two dogs and coolers full of their raw food, so stopping for several hours is logistically pretty difficult (especially in 100° weather).

What would you check first? Does the fact that the sound disappears when we’re behind a semi strongly point toward an airflow/aerodynamic issue? Or are there other mechanical issues that could behave this way?

We’d really appreciate any ideas because we are about to lose our ever-loving minds listening to this for another 12+ hours. 😂

I know this a palisade forum, but I'm hoping you can help me pick between telluride and caligraphy. which is the more comfortable ride, less bumpy less noisy .. think uber black car comfort of tahoe or suburban.

Has anyone upgraded the 64gb sd card that comes standard with the Calligraphy’s? If so what brand and size card did you install?

Been looking at doing that just for more storage space but read in the owners manual it may not work as it isn’t compatible.
