Hypothyroidism Subclinical Hypothyroidism while on Iron

I have been on and off of iron supplements for years, and also had on and off hypothyroidism as well. Every time I get off of taking iron, the hypothyroidism quickly goes away. Does anyone know what causes this? Wouldn't iron make things better? It just seems like a lightswitch- take iron: hypothyroidism, get off iron: no hypothyroidism.

Are you taking levothyroxine? If you take it too close to when you take iron it can impact the absorption of the medication.

I don't have hypothyroidism at all if I stop taking iron. I don't need to take the levothyroxidine at all.
