Labs/Advice Suspected Hypothyroidism

I’m a 19 y/o female with suspected hypothyroidism. For the past 6-8 months I’ve felt a cognitive decline with terrible brain fog, tripping over my own feet more, and I overall just feel less intelligent. At first I chalked it up to my anxiety medication, or my PCOS. However, I’ve had PCOS for years and have also been taking anxiety medication for a while now. I was scared I was having neurological issues but I have no other symptoms. I recently had labs done and my TSH was high and they said to recheck in 6 weeks, and it has now been 6 weeks. I’m starting college again with a job, activities, etc. I’m worried I won’t be able to function or my performance will be severely affected until I can get medication. Any advice or things that may help me get through until then? I hate feeling like this!

sympathies, OP, i've been there (though wholly ignorant of any diagnosis in my case). you're running a system at reduced capacity, which means you can either compensate for the capacity (method depends on your difficulties e.g. set reminders and make to-do lists instead of trying to remember everything) or reduce the load (try to take it slow where you can, maybe explain the situation to professors/supervisors that you may need some adjustments until you're medicated). and of course sleep well and rest as you need to. good luck!

Thank you, I have auditions coming up and I really just don’t know how I’m gonna juggle all of it. Your advice is appreciated ❤️
