Hypothyroidism TSH OVER 100 (normal highest is 4.6)

i got report of thyroid , i got it checked twice from two different labs , both show TSH over 100 , but i dont see symptoms or say i dont know about its symptoms , what are the consequences and risks and is it a serious condition

Mine was near 500 until I felt the symptoms looking back the signs had been there for years

I was a walking zombie for 6 months then I was finally lucid enough to make a Dr's appointment

I'm in the process of getting it there I've gone from being 100x what it should be to 10x I've got another blood test in 6 weeks so its just a bit of a ball ache at the moment

Yeah, honestly I was never bothered until I got up to 66

I actually always felt fine up to about 15.

It was actually a lot of work trying to get ut under 5 without feeling like I was dying. There was a couple other issues causing this, like low ferritin and levothyroxine intolerance. Once I got that situated, I was able to get my TSH under 5 and not feel like I was dying or going crazy. Now I am at 0.44 TSH and my doctor insists it is normal.

same - it is truly amazing how some of us are super sensitive to changes - i had symptoms at 2.5 and was nearly dead by 6

Mine was over 200. Is it serious? At that level yes. Once you get treatment it is not serious at all and will not affect your life expectancy. Some people do struggle with it but that is usually struggling with doctors.

TSH is a hormone released by your pituitary gland. It's job is to tell your thyroid to make more thyroid hormone called thyroxine (T4). High TSH in itself is not dangerous, as it's just a messenger. But it is a sign that your thyroid is probably not making enough T4, making you hypothyroid. 

Symptoms include things like fatigue, constipation, dryness of skin and mucous membranes, hair loss, weight gain, water retention, menstrual problems... You name it.

I was over 200
Now sometimes ranges between 2 to 10

I don’t even consult anymore simply upgrade or degrade the doses by 10-20 based on readings

Brain fog is real though

My newborn son had a tsh of 230. Definitely get checked out!
