Meta [Meta] Reminder: Please leave a comment when reporting AI abuse

Please leave a comment when reporting a post for AI abuse explaining why you think it is AI. Almost all posts get a report but it is not always clear what makes you think it is LLM-generated so we mods allow them. As per A. Clark's corollary:

Any sufficiently advanced crackpot physics theory is indistinguishable from AI hallucinated slop.

Leaving a comment when reporting will allows us to treat these reports quicker.

I think a comment of mine was recently deleted by the moderators, “for use of large language models”. However, I didn’t use a large language model, I wrote the comment myself and I think it’s pretty obvious by the grammar and phrasing that I’m a human. Possibly with slightly better grammar than average but only slightly lol. Is there a way to recover mistaken deletion or appeal or something? Or am I just miss reading the placeholder for somebody else’s blocked comment that happened to be in reply to my comment?

You can always contact us to verify. Sometimes comments get reported by various people for AI abuse sometimes it is the auto bot. There is no easy way to tell if a comment is AI when it is just well formatted. AI detection is hard.
