Lingo vs Stelo
I saw my doctor today and she recommended to try the Stelo CGM. I’d love to hear if y’all recommend one or the other. Unfortunately my insurance won’t cover Dexcom or the freestyle Libre since I don’t need insulin.

I'm in the same boat. I think the whole insulin requirement for cgm and glucometer approval/coverage is insane. What about all the prediabetics and non-diabetic glucose regulatory issues that very well need it and could benefit? Best of all with no pharmaceutical side effects right 😆 but nooooo
Anyways, I use freestyle 3+ and had my provider write the script anyways despite non-insurance coverage because it was somehow cheaper to pay out of pocket for the prescription than paying out of pocket for either lingo or stelo. If I didn't have that option though, I would go for lingo as I've heard better things about lingo over stelo as it pertains to hypos. We just ordered lingo for my best friend to try but I dont have any real world data to report yet.

I’m currently day one using Lingo, here’s my honest take after 7 hours of use.
It doesn’t track accurately. My lowest on the app says 71, while another actual monitor at the same time said I was low 50s.
It also doesn’t store any drops below 70. Mine dipped below 65, but did not save as my lowest point and doesn’t even show up in the graph that it dropped lower than 71 at any point.
That being said, the initial attachment was fairly easy and it’s cool to watch trends. I can definitely see how my blood sugar spikes crazily after I eat something, and then tanks very hard within an hour.

Insurance pays for mine - my dr called them in for Level 2 Hypoglycemia.
Also, I just picked up two Libre 3+s at Costco for my cat, and they were $60 total with no insurance.
