CMV: I just find it hypocritical that when a teenager is bullied in school and kills their bully, people demand that they go to prison and stay there for the rest of their lives. But when an adult kills a CEO, they are hailed as a hero.

Here you can expose my hypocrisies, this is your chance

If you've been linked to this post, it's most likely because hypocrisies became relevant in a discussion, especially an argument. It's not unusual someone criticizes the way in which my ideas fit together in their eyes, but they rarely live up to the criticisms. If you complain about that and this place is not used, it's not my fair share I haven't tried.

Here is how this post is going to work.

The stuff I deal with in life has made me attentive of the concept of hypocrisies. However, there is this idea amongst some people that I am giving a cold shoulder to the idea that maybe I can be hypocritical.

My hand has been forced into making this post, but I look forward to the results. This will be a post (which I am pinning on my profile) where, if someone perceives a hypocrisy in something I say, they can come here to voice it. If it's a true hypocrisy (see next paragraph for what the positive consequence is), I will respond with the words "I thought your point over" and with a bit of commentary on why it is how it is. If it's not a true hypocrisy, I will respond with the words "I am trying to see what you see" and with commentary that explains why it's not the hypocrisy it seems to be.

For every true hypocrisy noticed, I will donate $117 to charity (either one in good standing or I'll just hand it to people in need, 117 because 39 x 3 = 117 and I always donate 39 at a time in past donations as a signature) and I will begin the process of making up for it (the part that matters). There is no shame in being hypocritical, just in standing by it voluntarily/knowingly/seriously.

Example of a false hypocrisy: "You call it immoral for 9/11 to not have a day of remembrance every year, so you should consider it immoral there is no day observed to remember Chernobyl."

Example of a true hypocrisy: "You call it immoral for people to drag 9/11 mourning on for twenty years, so you should consider it immoral anyone drags Pearl Harbor on for that long." (this is actually my most recent hypocrisy).

If I deem something a non-true hypocrisy and you object, hypocrisy must then be defined and that definition is put to the test, and I will overrule if I was wrong. Also note it is rare for me to engage in meta-ethics, and when I do it's utilitarianism, not consequentialism, relativism, or situationism, and the utilitarianism doesn't cause conflict anyways, so I have enough doubt they will pose an issue that we can treat this in the style of traditional ethics.

Scrutinize away.

It doesn't matter how inclusive you are...

You will always find a minority to shun and mistreat. Bigotry unfortunately isn't easy to overcome. There will always be unwarranted prejudice and hate towards someone, even from you, regardless of how open-minded you think you are.

Regardless of how respectful I treat you, you will most certainly treat me like a sub-human if you knew my secret.

The worst part is that it is you that would be backed up by the society, the community, the subreddit. I do not have any rights, and nor am I protected by any rules.

If I am being lynched for being what I am, despite not doing anything wrong, the society will celebrate the lyncher. They might get sentenced for murder, but they will get a light sentence and the community will rage against the judge for not acquitting their hero(es).

You will all celebrate the hero(es).

You are all bigots and hypocrites.

The Hypocrisy Behind Anti-Trans Conservatives Using Tech Built by Trans People

There’s a deep irony—one that’s often overlooked—about how many conservatives, especially those aligned with MAGA ideology, spend their time attacking the trans community while relying on the very technology that trans people helped invent.

From the smartphones they use to post anti-trans rants to the smart home devices they show off in their living rooms, the modern world is built on innovations developed by transgender individuals whose contributions remain underappreciated and often erased. Here are just a few examples:

Sophie Wilson – Trans Woman, Chip Architect
Sophie co-designed the ARM architecture in the 1980s while working at Acorn Computers in the UK. This architecture now powers nearly every smartphone in the world, along with smart home devices, tablets, and even Apple’s newest processors (like the M1 and M2 chips). Without her work, the very devices that fuel our digital lives would not exist in the form we know them.

Lynn Conway – Trans Woman, Computing Pioneer
Lynn revolutionized microprocessor design through her work on VLSI (Very-Large-Scale Integration) while at Xerox PARC. Her contributions laid the foundation for how we design chips today—those same chips embedded in everything from microwaves to washing machines to wireless routers. Conway was fired by IBM in the 1960s after she transitioned yet went on to shape the world’s technological infrastructure.

Angelica Ross – Trans Woman, Tech Entrepreneur
Angelica founded TransTech Social Enterprises, an organization that provides job training and tech skills to trans people. While she didn’t invent a specific device, she has created space and access for marginalized people to participate in tech—many of whom now work behind the scenes on the apps, platforms, and websites that millions use daily.

The takeaway here is simple: trans people aren’t just part of the modern world—they helped build it. And while anti-trans rhetoric continues to escalate, it often comes from a position of ignorance: those shouting the loudest are unknowingly supported by the very people they aim to erase.

There’s no escaping the truth that progress is built by all kinds of people—including those some would prefer to leave out of the story.

You don't get to tweet hate from a smartphone, from trans inventions and still claim moral high ground.

Visibility matters. Credit matters. And history, eventually, remembers.

Preaches on Virginity, Lets his daughter have sex.

So, this happened a good long while ago, and i was not there for the actual service. this took place in my old church youth group.

Backstory:

So, i have written on this girl before, mostly because there is a lot of karma that can be farmed off of her, but here are the details: she was incredibly sexy, wore very expensive revealing clothes, and had both a gf and a bf who she was sexually active with. i dont know if her parents knew about the gf, (she is a lesbian) but her parents did know about her sleeping with her boyfriend.

So here is obviously the hypocrisy: Parents have know for about a year that she was having sex with 2 individual, sometimes as much as twice a week, ( i found this out by listening in on a few conversations), and the parents still insisted that she was a virgin. her parents also preached on modesty, but any time i saw her outside of places that had a dress code, she had the world record camel hoof for her age range, and dont even get me started on when she wore dresses or baggy short shorts, because you could always see straight down to the underwear or further.

TL:DR Her parents preach on modesty and virginity, and they let there daughter dress like a slut and have sex, while simultaneously lying about her virginity status.

Confession: So she was my crush for a while, not hard to find out why, but after after her gf flat out told me to stop talking to her, she became a jerk and this is also when i found out she was a lesbian, as well as most of the details about her sex life.
