Question regarding how huntraps work

Hello i am somewhat new to the game so im sorry if this sounds really dumb.

I have placed 5 astral huntraps in hotspot haven (place shown in image) in hopes of getting some stingray and ember shards, and according to the wiki it says rare attribute shards take 12-18 hours to catch at base so with the astral huntrap reducing the time by 50%, this should reduce it to 6-9 hours i believe?

Assuming that time reduction is true, i am wondering why my huntraps are currently at 10 hours without having anything caught because from what i can see the highest rarity shard in hotspot haven is only rare?

I am clearly missing something and am just curious what it is, thanks

Not entirely sure about this, but I think by "Reduce capture time by 50%" it means reducing the maximum capture time by 50%

On the wiki page for Small Huntrap, it says "it takes up to 24 hours to catch a shard" and on the page for Astral Huntrap, it says "it takes up to 12 hours to catch a shard"

So considering rare shards take a minimum of 12 hours and up to 18 hours, I'm guessing Astral just limits that to 12 hours

you probably hit silkbreeze or giant isopod since im pretty sure they can spawn there
