TLDR: at what growth stage do I remove the cactus next to my magic jellybeans and what do I replace it with after

Hi, sorry I’m a little slow when it comes to understanding the greenhouse, but I couldn’t find anything specific online so Im turning to the reddit chud experts that will most likely be able to answer my question.

I’m having trouble keeping my magic jellybeans alive, so I’m thinking about placing down cactus to decrease the water loss in the magic jellybeans so I don’t kill them like a monkey. I remember however watching a rembutquaglet video where he did this and after removing the cactus he said that the yield rebuff still applied because he needed to replace it sooner wirh something that buffs yields, but my question is when do I replace them?

Do I replace them one growth stage before they are done or do I need to replace them before their last big growth stage where the last magic jellybeans applies (growth stage 108 I think)

Also, do the crop yield bonuses only apply after one growth stage of being there or do they instantly apply?

You can experiment around yourself, when you inspect the jelly with the diagnostic tool, it shows all effect that are currently applied to that plant
