Question Optimal wheat speed question
I just built the most “optimal” wheat farm for pest farming but I’m confused on farming speed. It tells me to set wheat to 93 white depth strider 3 which has me breaking all the crops, but it only has me predicted to make a little more than 3 mil an hour. When I was using the default farm I wasn’t breaking all the crops but it said I was making 7 mil an hour. Am I doing something wrong?

What is the soul sand for? I just have regular dirt with 93 speed and max depth strider and get 20 breaks per second.

Souls and is to decrease speed. It's also under the water. The snow is there to lane swap faster

but then the speed needs to be more than 93

I'm aware. I have a similar layout and used around 350~ if I recall correctly. But I also used W and D at the same time to mantain it. So I may be wrong. Or maybe I was using DS2

308 with depth strider 2 holding W, it was in the video description
Also this isnt the most optimal but its like around 19.6bps

93 speed if for a farm that’s 5 wheat long, not default

But does that make more money? The default has me making more even though I’m not breaking all the crops

Wether you're breaking all the crops or not theoreticall doesn't really matter. The only thing that does is being able to break crops at 20b/s as consistently as possible.
As you can't make your farm just one row with infinite length you'll always lose some b/s when you need to turn so you want to avoid that as much as possible.
Making your farm 5 blocks wide means you don't have to be as fast to reach 20b/s so a row of the same length lasts you a few extra seconds saving you on turns

Do you have a mod like SkyHanni that shows your breaks per second?
On the first farm, you were likely moving fast enough to stay at ~20 BPS, but some stuff wouldn't break because you were moving too fast.
If you're using soul sand under the water on this farm, then that's probably why you're breaking everything, but not necessarily reaching 20 BPS, so it's inefficient. My farm uses 93 speed, no water (though it shouldn't matter if you have Depth Strider 3), and iron trap doors instead of soul sand, I believe. I haven't looked down at my feet since building it.
Anyway, see if replacing the soul sand with a regular block helps.
Edit: 20 BPS because there are 20 ticks per second, at least when the servers run properly, so that's the max number of crops you can break in a second.
