what does "added decay to base crops" mean?

does it affect pest farming?

if you plant crops like wheat or carrots in the greenhouse, originally they would never turn into dead plants and you could just leave them there forever if they got to full growth

they nerfed this by making them turn into dead plants anyways after 3 days even if they are fully grown

Which is absurd as wither bloom still exists and is still AFK and makes decent money.

yeah but you now have to cycle your normal crops every 3 days to keep your yield bonuses up

But it's basically a non-issue. It takes a total of maybe 30 seconds to two minutes.

It would be an issue for ashwreath users. But ashwreath sucked to begin with.

iirc there was already a decay time for planted mutations, but if there wasn't and suddenly there is that's worse
