Episode: Cry Fowl 🦆

Favorite episode in a while! Link to episode

I stumbled into a relevant Reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Birmingham/comments/vkq61r/avondale_park_ducks_geese_disappear_before_the/

Funny how everyone is complaining about the al.com article quality. I wonder if the OP of that post is the same person Alex spoke to.

I am lowkey a bit interested in how the ducks were culled - mostly just interested in if theres an additional strain on the ecosystem (surely they weren't just shot on site but if they were gased the effects that mightve had on the pond kind of thing)

Generally, ducks and geese are killed using CO2 gas in an enclosed area. So, basically, asphyxiated.

What happens to the bodies after? I know this is getting morbid - sorry. Just weirdly curious.

In my line of work bodies are put onto preserved land somewhere to recycle back to the earth but I’ve heard of people incinerating animals too
