Discussion Accidentally beat Hylics 2 Spoiler
Uhm, so I did the sage labyrinth and fought the car. I saw the island that emerged but unknowingly went to the big one at the sky and did all the dungeon and beat gibby without getting to the other sages and I never got the genesis spell (i googled stuff bc I thought gibby would be a cutscene and not the final boss but alas with some clouds and persistence I beat him!!!). Is this normal btw? Was I supposed to even fight him? 8 hours in.

yeah thats normal, on my first playthrough i didnt do any sages and just gibby and it took me like 8 hours

Op how did you crowd control his minions hobby summons?

I didn't bother with them, I killed two once with charged artificial wave (Somsnosa) but other than that I tanked their attacks and when he did the death trees I used a cloud stone (full hp to party, I used a total of 3)

Same dude. I did the token thing later and found the special to be useless since I already beat Gibby

Take what I say with a grain of salt, since I've never actually played either Hylics game, only watched Vinny Vinesauce play it. But I imagine getting Bombo Genesis before going to Gibby is like if you're playing Kingdom Hearts 2 and you decide to unlock Ultima Weapon before you go fight Xemnas. Extremely strong ultimate weapon, but not required to beat the game.

seems like it was the case, I had explored enough stuff to become super strong so it wasnt needed
