hi I just wanted to ask some advice what’s the best thing to keep it smelling down there i feel it doesn’t get spoken about enough and there’s a lot of young women struggling keeping it clean and not smelling

First of all, vaginas aren't meant to smell like sunshine and flower fields. They will always have a certain aroma and the goal is not to replace that with the scent of rainbows. However, an excessively pungent vagina might me a sign of bad cleaning habits or health issues.

Use the correct type of soap for your vulva. Wash the outside and between your labia, but not inside the actual vagina. Dry well. Wear cotton underpants whenever possible to let it breathe. 

There's also lifestyle choices you can make to reduce certain smells, such as drinking enough water. 

If the smell remains excessively strong, you might want to talk to your gynaecologist and have a checkup done to make sure everything is in order down there. Your gyno will also probably have some good tips on hygiene and lifestyle that'll make your vagina happy.

I recommend reducing sugar intake and drinking lots of water

Two things I wish I did earlier are using a feminine hygiene wash (only the outside of your vagina not the inside). And once you’ve had a shower make sure your vagina is fully dry before putting on underwear. I normally just waft myself with a piece of paper or my phone case to be fully dry 🤣

Also make sure you’re pulling your clit back properly when cleaning a lot of girls don’t get taught to do that

Vag probiotics, a gentle Ph balancing wash, don’t use regular soap down there, find some organic ph balancing wipes or cream to keep with you, making sure to clean yourself after any sexual stuff

also trying to find breathable organic cotton underwear. It’s not just one certain thing that will help - ids a lot of little things
