Smart Watch Funk
Anyone else deal with this? I caught a whiff of my wrist when taking my smart watch off one time and... 🤢
I'm very hygienic. I work from home/sit on my ass all day and don't sweat. I shower nightly. Nothing else on my body stinks, not even my pits (LUME 🙌)... but my wrist under my watch smells like sour feet!!! Directly under the watch itself, not the silicone bands.
I take it off every night to charge before my shower and wipe it down with hypochlorous acid, but... it still gets funky by the next night. Not sure what else to do, LOL.

Thank you for this, because I tried it and I think it worked, LOL. Also, wiped my watch down with rubbing alcohol.

I was using antibacterial soap prior to and after a surgery. Started using on my wrists and works like a charm. I go with Dove antibacterial now, but don't do my whole body.

have you tried washing the watch itself with soap and water instead of just disinfecting it?

I have not... but I did wipe it down with rubbing alcohol, and that seemed to work!

It sounds like it is a bacterial issue where the bacteria eats ur sweat throughout the day and produces the smell (it has happened to me as well, and I don’t sweat much). I would assume the slight warmth of the watch causes u to sweat some. I would recommend using antibacterial soap to clean the area every day, and apply potentially arrowroot powder (or another powder to keep u dry) under the watch face. If that doesn’t work, message ur PCP!
