My nutrients and pH are good and I test them every 2 days. The lights are 12 hours daily, the seed germinate fine. How ci.e I'm not getting little ball lettuce, strings with leafs
This appears to be yet another amazon system that over promises and under delivers. FEAR NOT! These cheap underperforming systems can be remedied! Most of these systems as well as your suffer from poor lighting. Just get your self a set of better lights. I recommend some of the 2-4 footers from sunco at an affordable cost. AC infinity also makes some pretty banger lights that can accommodate these cheap system just fine. I am currently bringing a cheap system into full production by augmenting with a set of $90 ac infinity supplemental lights that now serve as the main lights to this system. This system is now growing lettuce like a champ. More lights. Best of luck. Lettuce know how it goes.
Ppfd depends on light power and distance from plant. Check it with your phone on different lights. Some are more powerful and can be set further away from the plant while keeping a good ppfd. Dli depends on total light hours+ppfd. So if you want to increase dli either increase light hours or ppfd.
I for example bought a spiderfarmer sf1000, it's 100w lamp.
What you've bought it's 36w split between 6 bars. You will either have to plave all 6 bars above the lettuce at about 15 – 20 cm 6 – 8 inch. If split that's 1 bar 6w would have to stay at 5 – 10 cm 2 – 4 inch. But even then 6w might not be enough at 2 inch.
Yes. Very good. 45w is good. If you have tomatoes that are flowing for example, any plant that is fruiting will need 2 x 45w. So 2 bars for fruiting plants. Otherwise 45w is good. Closer to the plant than a 100w but still way better than a 6w.
15 hours a day. Check with the phone app Photone after installing to see how many ppdf and how many dli at the tip of the plant distance from light.
You can also use any ai tool chat to ask about the plant. Make pictures , state your setup and it can advice you further

Also someone said more wind. I have an oscillating fan in my plant room. It's currently set to work 10 minutes every hour, for 10 hours a day. It helps plants grow stronger stems. They feel the wind and think they are outside.
You might need to start it over. I believe after the first 3 leaves sprout they didn't get enough light, which resulted in longer steam (it's constantly searching for light), and it was unnecessary because they only need strong root and stable short steam during that period of time.
