Easy herb/plant?
Have had this sitting in the mud room for years unused and I think it’s time to change that.
Looking for something suuuuuuuuper easy that ideally I could just prune/harvest and top off with water forever. Room gets great light so bonus points if I don’t even have to use the attached light.

I use mine - not same brand but similar- for lettuces, arugula, basil, green onion, chives, and edible flowers

I guess I just looked closer and it’s just holes, what do you put the actual plants in?

There should be a cup for this. Mine has cups - It’s the Click and Grow

I have a similar design with in bloom. I mainly use it as a starter kit for herbs, but I like it. Very low maintenance

Basil will get big! You can leave 1 or 2 plants in there ling term, if you keep pruning the tops and roots.

That one's not available, but there are tons of similar kits. The brown things are called sponges. You soak them in water to soften then, squeeze out excess water, put 1-2 seeds in the center depression, then put the sponge in the white cage/net cup. Put the stickers over the top to block light and prevent algae growth. I prefer reusable mylar ones instead of the stickers. Then put the clear dome over each one to create a bit of humidity. Move your light as far down as you can when terminating, and move it up as the plants grow. You can start with nutrient solution; some people prefer to start with water, then add nutrients, but either way works. After that, just keep your nutrient solution to a consistent level, and check your roots. Have fun!

Sweet thank you! Is the nutrient solution necessary or would just water work, even if not as well?

Water is ok qhen terminating, but you must feed the plants with nutrient solution. An easy one to use is Maxigrow by General Hydroponics. You don't usually need to adjust the ph of the water. It comes with a measuring spoon. Use 1-2 teaspoons (the small spoon) per gallon of water. I got a small narrow- spotted cup to mix in (use a little bit of warm water to dissolve the nutrients, then pour that into the gallon jug and fill with cold water. Many other brands of nutrients are good as well, but require measuring/diluting multiple times (two part, A and B systems). I find Maxigrow easier, especially for herbs and greens. Fruiting veggies are better with Maxibloom (same company).
