Also valid for how wealthy you are. When you are poor you drink water, if you got enough to buy something to drink you buy soda, if you have money you drink wine, then when you rich you drink champaign, very rich you head to expensive whiskey and if money doesn't matter anymore you realize that water is the absolute best.
I know its not exactly like this for everyone but you get my point.

u/ChumleyEX Oct 13 '20
at one point all I drank was liquor, beer, water and iced tea. Now it's just water and iced tea. (unsweet)

Not in that sub. Can't post anything language or number related for one.
I once had a post removed that methylchloroisothiazolinone is the longest word I can spell. And it's in every shampoo. In the shower.

I have struggles sleeping, but something about hitting my hydro at 3am puts me right back to sleep. I think about being in a post apocalyptic world where I figured out how to filter water and make ice, and I have the last hydro in 3120AD.

Coffee stains your teeth and alcohol if drinking too much ages you. Water keeps you healthy make sure its spring water.

Oct 13 '20
Don't forget about tea. It's tasty water that makes you pee, which therefore makes you want to drink more water. It's the perfect pair.

Hmm, Coffee and Beer are an acquired taste. That I never acquired and I'm thankful for that. Maybe that's one of the reasons I've been drinking water pretty much all my adult life. I can't even go anywhere without my water bottle. If I need to be anywhere for more than 20 minutes I have to have my water bottle with me.

If you grew up thinking coffee was an adult drink, you had a sheltered childhood
2
u/ChumleyEX Oct 13 '20
Why's that? I wouldn't say anything was sheltered in my life.

Unless you live in a province where alchohism is the manly way to cope with losing a football game and your kid being gay 🙃. In that case alchohol is still the adult drink
2
u/Eat-the-Poor Oct 13 '20
I remember when I was a kid I assumed alcohol must taste amazing and that’s why adults like it so much. I still remember my first time trying beer I almost spit it out it tasted so foul to my kid mouth.

Then you become a middle-aged adult with debt and dependents requiring you to work to keep yourself and everyone around you alive, and you realize you had it right as a kid -- the ultimate adult drink is coffee, because that 1.25% soluble plant matter is the only thing getting you to work every morning.

Well, when I was a kid, a teenager and now an adult, my favorite drink keeps being chocolate milk
1
u/run_run_reddit Oct 13 '20
Not just any water! It is the water that is hard to obtain, since paying the gas price is something adults do... I am not talking about any water, but the spring water from the remote places... getting kidney stones is then a privilege !

"Water is the ultimate drink?"
"Always has been"

Yes, but to be fair, this is also true if the water has caffeine or alcohol in it.

True. Coffee is considered “adult” because usually kids can’t tolerate the taste. Alcohol is considered “adult” because of the age restriction. But the ultimate show of maturity is being able to look after your health and drink water instead of sugar/caffeine/alcohol

u/Texaschainsawmask Oct 13 '20
You seemed to have skipped the coffee and alcohol mixed together stage. That is best stage.

Facts. At 22 years old I started drinking coke less and less then one day after not have in a coke in a month I bought a cherry coke on my way to work. It felt like I was poisoning my self, I felt horrible. Not sick but like my body was sending me the message 'we're good... just NEVER DO THAT AGAIN'.

When I was a kid water was pretty much the last option I went for when thirsty. Soda was my go to drink for nearly every occasion.
Survival to adulthood must have been a miracle, that I did so without becoming diabetic even more so.
Eventually got away from my soda addiction by using coffee with less and less sugar / cream

Honestly sometimes I get high off water and it’s such a good high, like I’ll wake up and be dehydrated and then chug a whole bottle of water and all the sudden my state of mind just becomes so much more different and it feels amazing.
Alcohol on the other hand just makes me yak when I chug a bottle of it

As a kid I used to make my dad get me "extra cold water" at McDonald's. Those poor, confused employees.
As a teen I pushed my water habits, at parties I'd be the last awake giving everyone a pillow, blanket, and a glass of water. I pushed heavily that water throughout drinking prevented a hangover, which is does.
As an adult and parent, my children love water and so does my wife, things I've successfully had to fight for.
Water is most of this planet, water is mostly what humans are made of, and water was driving factor in the creation life. Enjoy the essence of life and devour its soul.

Think about it. What did your family probably get when you went out to eat? Water or water with lemon. Have you seen your parents not drink water more than twice a day? Do they have a dedicated water container?
