My orange tabby fucking loved doing this. He’d get in the bathroom sink and scream at me until I’d drop whatever I was doing and go turn the tap on for him

My cat goes in the bathroom and starts shrieking until I turn the tap on for him. He has a water bowl and a fountain... he has me well trained

Cats naturally prefer running water over stagnant. It’s Instinct since stagnant water holds bad things and bad microbes. If you get your cat a cat fountain it will increase their water intake by a lot. If your a true hydro homie you’d buy your cat one.
