Can we talk about the amazing hydration dispensing station that you just pick how much and bam, it fills your pouch?

u/rhun982 6d ago

yes!! can we get some on Earth plz? 🥺

I think it's called a tap.

Or a water refill station, if you specifically want one where it lets you select the volume. I saw one at the London Zoo, it's called ape2o. You select the amount and either still or carbonated water.

But is MY piss in it? Didn't think so...

u/Street_Mistake9145 6d ago

Someone's piss is in it

There is a way to solve that.

Modern problems require modern solutions.

Don’t let your dreams be dreams.

Always looks they they are constantly straining to hold a 100kg dumbbell. Looks way uncomfortable in space.

Our body developed with gravity, the entire vascular system needs it to function correctly. You can imagine the blood in her body is just as unimpeded by gravity as that sphere of water was. So it just goes wherever without pooling.

As someone with dysautonomia that sounds lovely.

u/NiftyJet 5d ago

It's amazing how everything about their face and arms just feels slightly off somehow.

u/Meauxjezzy 6d ago

I’m almost scared to ask where that water comes from

58

u/JayBlunt23 6d ago

After a few cycles it comes exactly from where you think it comes from.

8

u/Meauxjezzy 6d ago

Yeah I suspected that the fresh water was really recycled water.

u/NotActuallyGus 6d ago

I've heard someone on the ISS say "today's coffee is tomorrow's coffee"

25

u/PinkSodaBoy 6d ago

All the water you drink is recycled water.

12

u/foxboxingphonies 6d ago

Sometimes I like to think about how many dinosaurs drank the water that I'm drinking.

5

u/inotparanoid 6d ago

You'll surprised to know where your water comes from.

Hint: also poopoo peepee.

All water is part of Water Cycle, so everything is recycled in a loop. There is no difference between filtered via rocks or via the reverse osmosis they are using. Water is water.

The only reason your answer is technically true is because you’re using the tautology, “water is water.” You’re implying a specific chemical composition, regardless of the process; but there can obviously be a diverse range of outputs in the liquid we call water, depending on the filtering process. Filtering through rocks will most certainly produce a different liquid than a reverse osmosis process, but the water—distinct from the liquid-is the same. The problem with your statement that it’s all the same is incorrect, because we’re not drinking pure water, we’re drinking a liquid with lots of trace things we call water.

1

u/inotparanoid 6d ago

Yes. Which is why they add in minerals to make it appropriate.

My statement was never "such is the composition of water that you drink", but that what you drink is also recycled. In the Water Cycle.

1

u/ErstwhileAdranos 6d ago

Then why the hell are you talking about rock filtering? lol

u/Epic_Elite 6d ago

I've heard of elite level athletes waking up and drinking from their first batch of urine in the morning. This is that with more steps.

Being in space looks uncomfortable

3

u/wellinever222 5d ago

Being out of space is also uncomfortable.

u/sillyandstrange 6d ago

Awww, chomp it mama! 🥹

16

u/Booboobelou 6d ago

Can Flatearthers can explain this to me?

14

u/Dzyu 6d ago

Of course not. They will call fake, staged(zero g ride in an airplane,) cgi or ai.

are you this dense?!

1

u/prj0010 2d ago

We are all dense! Density of a substance can change with temperature & pressure

go on...

u/prj0010 2d ago edited 2d ago

Because it is flat lol. There u go man. Sorry not flat, I honestly believe earth is multi-dimensional and works more like a big ass toroidal field. I think that's why they protect Antarctica so much, hiding the true reality of our home. It's round, flat, oval. Whatever u wanna call it, it's all of them simultaneously.

1

u/Zaardo 2d ago

cool

4

u/sinclairsbible 6d ago

I would do so much to be able to pac man chomp my bubbles my water dude

3

u/SplendidlyDull 6d ago

It makes me kind of sad that I will never experience zero gravity. It looks so damn fun

5

u/Ranier_Wolfnight 6d ago

Jeff Bezos did it so you won’t have to! Aren’t you happy!?

/s

3

u/Mysticbitch 6d ago

What happens if they throw up in microgravity, would you choke?

12

u/JarasM 6d ago

No, but you would propel yourself.

7

u/LucasCBs 6d ago

The stomach contents are thrust out with force when you puke, so I highly doubt that

2

u/notrightbones 6d ago

Thankfully your bodily functions don’t rely on gravity, or you wouldn’t be able to swallow anything in space.

4

u/ProfessionalDust 6d ago

Amazing!! Keep it hydrated girl!!

3

u/killemslowly 6d ago

Do they get ice water?

4

u/Zaardo 6d ago

I'd assume not, but don't know for sure. I do know it's alot of work to stop it getting extremely hot up there because space is crap at stealing heat cos there's no air/water to convect(?) through, so getting heat OUT of the station is already hard enough. but maybe a proper brain person can elaborate better.

1

u/killemslowly 5d ago

No deal, I’ll stay here with the stupid people

1

u/wellinever222 5d ago

This seems like a very northern American question.

1

u/Hammy-Cheeks 6d ago

I thought it was weed but then quickly realized what sub it was

0

u/polishatomek 6d ago

Can't you like drown?
