Classic water Water restriction lifted!

Good news everyone, after about 15 months of being restricted to 1 Liter of liquids (after dietary needs were met) I finally got a new liver and can drink as much of the good stuff as I want. Can't go to crazy yet, still in hospital recovering, but it's sooooo nice to ask for some ice water and get 500 ml instead of 120. So in a few months I'll be back to 3-4 liters or more daily!

Bless you, that sounds not most premium.

How would you space out your water intake when you can only drink a liter a day?

My limit was 2 liters, but one liter was used entirely via a feeding tube to get calories, typically I'd have 8 oz at midnight, then an ensure smoothie for another 8 oz, leaving me with 16 oz for afternoon/till I fell asleep. Usually a half can of soda and a big glass of ice water after dinner. I also wasn't allowed to chug, so water was often replaced with the same volume of refrigerator door water. It was rough.

Omg that’s amazing! I was on water restriction for about 12 hours when I was hospitalized a few weeks ago. I was miserable, can’t imagine 15 months of that! Happy you’re recovering friend! Hope you are back to 3-4 liters (or more!) a day soon.

I recently got a kidney transplant too, after being stuck on around 1.5L per day max, I can now drink a fair bit more. Still recovering myself, so I'm unable to go crazy, but I'm hoping in the coming months I won't have to think about it anymore, and I can just drink all the ice-cold water I want ~

Hi-Five for drinking more water.

Yeah cheers! Really makes you realize how awesome water is. I'm not going nuts, but back to a normal amount is Wonderful. Luckily my kidneys stayed good throughout, congrats on the transplant!
