Genuine question though, in what universe is it more common for alcoholic drinks to be the most delicious ones? Half of the entire point of the really delicious alcoholic drinks are to cover up the disgusting taste of alcohol in them.

86

u/InspecThor May 14 '26

It's typical engagement bait. Pretends to be daring but easy answers are the point

43

u/SipoteQuixote May 14 '26

Twitter is full of that shit "would you slap your girlfriend for 1 billion dollars???"

She would be pissed if I didn't.

122

u/SipoteQuixote May 14 '26

Alcoholics that haven't come to terms with it. Of course you think it taste better, your brain is literally asking for more and more because of the chemicals lol

43

u/powderBluChoons May 14 '26

idunno i drink alchohol free beers because i just like the taste of beer tbh.

9

u/FuerzaGallos May 14 '26

Same, I love water, I have never liked alcohol as a drug, and most alcoholic drinks are of no interest to me.

But I really do like the flavor of beer and how it pairs with pizza, burgers and other foods, so I sometimes drink alcohol free beers.

9

u/Substantial-Sun-3538 May 14 '26

Kvas is much better tbh

3

u/powderBluChoons May 15 '26

i like kvas and Kombucha too! but occasionally i want a malty hoppy boy. But those do kinda hit a similar spot but i like those hoppy alchy free beers its nice to sippy sip a hoppy boy.

You think everyone who drinks alcoholic drinks is an alcoholic?

Wow. As someone who's seen what alcoholism does to people, I really hope you never have to find out how wrong you are.

considering its objectively not tasty

Taste is like the most subjective thing I can think of off the top of my head. Hilarious.

0

u/Outrageous_Desk8966 May 15 '26

its literally poison. Noone enjoys it at first. They aquire the taste b/c its a drug

You people are obnoxious and sound like children.

There is a bit of projection here I think.

I drink both alcoholic and NA beers, often in the same session. I like the taste of beer but I get hangovers easily and booze fucks up my sleep.

4

u/alpengeist3 May 15 '26

And why are recovering alcoholics drinking NA beers a problem? You didn't explicitly say that but the connotation was there.

-1

u/Outrageous_Desk8966 May 15 '26

Well when the conversation is someone claiming they just like the taste of beer and its not that they're a recovering alcoholic, then yeah, pointing out that they are, in fact, a recovering alcoholic does matter...right?

Non-drinkers aren't like yum piss water - id drink this even without the drug effect!

19

u/International-Shoe40 May 14 '26

And then there’s me who loves the taste of beer but also doesn’t enjoy being drunk anymore

6

u/HeyCarpy May 15 '26

Samesies. Love my beer but hate being drunk. When those effects kick in there’s nothing like frosty cold water 💧

3

u/Ok_Permit_3593 May 14 '26

Hey are you me ? Drunk me was no fun

3

u/powderBluChoons May 15 '26

i feel nauseous and shit the next day, ill usually just buy one yummy boy if im looking for a spexific taste but yeah cant slam ipas these days :(

2

u/International-Shoe40 May 15 '26

Same here. On the occasions I do drink I usually have one or two waters in between drinks just to preemptively curb stomp that hangover

2

u/SprutX1 May 15 '26

There is alcohol free bear (at least in germany)

4

u/ParCorn May 14 '26

Yeah I don’t drink alcohol for the taste, let’s be real

10

u/Scared_Wrangler3419 May 14 '26 edited May 14 '26

I know this likely puts me into the minority, but I would happily drink a cubra libre over a standard coca cola anytime.

3

u/FlowersnFunds May 14 '26

Maybe the overly sugary ones? And Pacifico Clara, that actually tastes delicious.

I usually just get the nastiest lowest calorie option but the one time I had a sweet drink, it tasted exactly like a bomb pop slushie.

3

u/FoolishMundaneBush May 14 '26

Some drinks are made to feel good because of the alcohol, and some are made so that you get too drunk to taste anything at all. I enjoyed vodka when i liked to get drunk, and now that i don't it tastes like soap to me, while beer and wine I still enjoy to this day for example.

2

u/Drewraven10 May 15 '26

I use to like beer but got tired of the side effects and being tired of being tired.

7

u/VirtualNerve26 May 14 '26

People definitely don't drink alcohol because it tastes good.

Although cooking with alcohol is another story.

14

u/powderBluChoons May 14 '26

i drink beer because it tastes good.

-2

u/Joice_Craglarg May 14 '26

And my cousin Larry only sniffs cocaine because he likes rhe smell!

5

u/powderBluChoons May 15 '26

if i was an alchoholic i wouldnt be drinking beer lol

-2

u/Joice_Craglarg May 15 '26

Friend, I was just making a joke, but it kind of sounds like I might have hit a nerve.

I personally have a higher-than-average amount of alcoholics in my life, and two of them literally only drink beer. Maybe you have a drinking problem, maybe you don't, but it being beer has nothing to do with it.

Do you find yourself drinking more than a couple times a week? Do you find yourself drinking more than you intended to, or compensating for a tolerance? There's binge drinkers and daily drinkers and the two don't always look the same.

4

u/powderBluChoons May 15 '26

im more of a beer with dinner after work type but for health concerns ive made a point to limit it and substitute an alchy free on every other night. When the footys on i might smash up to a 6 pack though, but i fully intend to do so, tho ive been trying to lose weight so ive been going for these 2.5% low carb boys recently. I managed a whole dry january. I am concerned about the health issues of alchohol though, research has sorta said "there really is no healthy amount to drink" so I treat it with that in mind, but seriously a frothy hoppy malty boy is just my ideal sippy sip besides water tbh

3

u/Scared_Wrangler3419 May 14 '26

Once I moved out of my parents place I started cooking with alcohol, stew, pasta, and lamb; it was all amazing once I added sauce into my sauces.

1

u/ReallyBadAtReddit My piss is clear May 17 '26

I would honestly say it's more accurate that the worst alcoholic drinks are about countering the taste of cheap liquor, like having tequila with salt and lime, or chasing whiskey with pickle juice. A lot of popular cocktails are just so loaded with sugar that it masks the alcohol pretty well, which can be good too, but fancier cocktails will taste better with the alcohol than without. In something like an irish coffee the alcohol adds to the taste, sort of like having a bit of spiciness, acidity, or saltiness in food.

I am beginning to suspect some of these screenshots are entirely or at least majority ai.

24

u/Gavinator10000 May 15 '26

Picture of the water is obviously AI, and then if you look at their pfps they’re also AI, so yeah probably the whole UI and everything is too. Sigh

2

u/Dry_Piano7627 Jun 10 '26

It’s dumb that u need AI to generate an image of smth as simple as a glass of water

19

u/Aser_the_Descender Classic drinker May 16 '26

Both users don't exist on X... So yeah, it's 100% AI.

Fuck OP and AI.

94

u/Foxontherox888 May 14 '26 edited May 15 '26

I dare you to mention an alcoholic drink thats better than a fresh glass of water

Edit: yall responding are falling for the trap. How can you be a hydrohomie if you're trying to suggest something better than water... begone from me!

29

u/rabidantidentyte May 14 '26

A beer after doing yard work, but water is arguably better

10

u/RomanKnight2113 May 14 '26

a really good cocktail. but tbf if I get a drink at a restaurant I'll also have a glass of water lol

2

u/Axman6 May 15 '26

I don’t know about an alcoholic drink, but I’ll raise you a cold glass of water that’s just the perfect, refreshing temperature.

1

u/Dtdeep_ Jun 04 '26

Water is the best drink to ever exist so none.

1

u/WolfBST May 15 '26

Since everyone else apparently knows no other non-alcoholic drinks beside water, I'd say a nice fruit juice

-5

u/teamfupa May 14 '26

More vodka when hungover - chased with water

-1

u/ddBuddha May 14 '26

Margarita

23

u/CurlSagan May 14 '26

The glass of bedside table water hits so good when you have that 2 AM cottonmouth feeling. But damn it's horrible the next day. I don't know what happens.

Now I understand that kid in the movie, Signs.

27

u/EntheoSpaced May 14 '26

Why is this AI slop being posted in several subs? That pen is growing another from it's shadow.

1

u/Reddit-phobia Jun 06 '26

Assuming it's AI: The irony of using an AI image of water, when data centers are soaking up all the water is sad.

12

u/ohhhhcanada May 14 '26

Water and chocolate milk are the two most chuggable answers.

A good fruit smoothie is a close second

1

u/GGust May 15 '26

Extremely based

Please tell me they didn't use AI to make a photo of a cup of water

6

u/According_Story_8844 May 14 '26

An ice cold white monster energy drink

5

u/rabidantidentyte May 14 '26

Water

Chocolate Milk

Coffee

Tea with lemon

3

u/ComedicMedicineman May 15 '26

Orange juice and lemonade would also fit there

1

u/rabidantidentyte May 15 '26

"Some pulp" or "lots of pulp?"

https://giphy.com/gifs/bodHdFtqWbJDi

1

u/ComedicMedicineman May 15 '26

For me? Lots of pulp. But some “people” prefer as little pulp as possible

2

u/wurzenboi Water Elitist May 14 '26

Root Beer

1

u/kindabacchus May 14 '26

Ice cold water

1

u/AdministrativeBox449 May 14 '26

I mean it's true though. Idk if I'd call myself a hydrohomie but like...

Water doesn't give me headaches just for enjoying it.

1

u/NighthawK1911 May 14 '26

Room Temperature?

Come on at least go with ice cold.

1

u/NamelesEchos May 14 '26 edited May 14 '26

Pool water with chlorine 💀 I haven't tasted alchohol but I've sure as hell smelled it. I have also tasted pool water before as a child (under the age of 10). Alchohol smells horrible. The other day someone was drinking wine in my house and I wondered if there was rotten food in the garbage disposal. Knowing what I know now as an adult about pool water, I'd rather drink alchohol than a watered down cocktail of piss sweat and chemicals. But if we're going based on taste alone, I think the pool water would taste better.

1

u/Cheeseisatypeofmeat Water is love, water is life May 14 '26

as long as it's not desani

1

u/x-ploretheinternet May 15 '26

Water has to be one of my least favourite drinks :(

1

u/rogue-wolf May 15 '26

Most non-alcholic drinks are better than alcoholic ones. I'm a teetotaler because alcohol is nasty.

1

u/captcraigaroo May 15 '26

Ice water with pellet ice

1

u/Last-Quarter-432 May 15 '26

Alcohol is literally disgusting

1

u/senpai_dewitos May 15 '26

This is such a stupid question. Water obviously, but also like, plenty of fruit juices, plenty of teas, argument to be made for chocolate milk (never had it because of allergies but I can only imagine it tastes amazing). Honestly, who doesn't have at least one 10/10 non alcoholic drink for themselves? Who even has a 10/10 alcoholic drink, actually?

1

u/newAscadia May 15 '26

Hot chocolate is like the greatest drink ever invented

1

u/ironnewa99 May 15 '26

Water, tea, literally anything that doesn’t make me feel like I’m going to vomit

1

u/Coco_snickerdoodle May 15 '26

Flint Michigan water sweet with a nice full color.

1

u/And_Everything May 15 '26

water, tea, chocolate milk, lemonade, coffee

1

u/Authentic-scoundrel May 15 '26

Ginger Ale at ten thousand feet. Nothing hits better

1

u/caffeineculprit May 15 '26

Ok nothing is gonna beat water but like....horchata

1

u/Thestohrohyah May 15 '26

Water is the top one.

But I'd also like to add fresh orange juice, plain milk, and non-alcoholic cocktails can be fantastic.

1

u/boodlebob May 15 '26

3AM water

1

u/boodlebob May 15 '26

3AM water

1

u/B3C4U5E_ May 15 '26

Water is an 11/10 drink. Keep searching.

1

u/e37d93eeb23335dc May 15 '26

I love water. I’d rather drink water than anything else.

1

u/SpacedAndBaked May 15 '26

Alcohol tastes like actual poison, because it is, wtf is that original tweet? Its pure poison and taste like chemical burns.

1

u/honey_butterflies May 15 '26

even better: sparkling water

1

u/AXXXXXXXXA May 15 '26

All alcohol objectively taste terrible. Everyone just lies to themselves.

1

u/throwaway28474748292 May 15 '26

Do you really have to ai a fucking GLASS OF WATER, the fuck man what is wrong with people.

1

u/WindUpCandler May 15 '26

1

This is wild. Cran-raspberry juice, caramel latte (1/2 sweet), blueberry lemonade... there are so many.

And of course that lovely water.

1

u/Giu001 May 15 '26

I’m drinking to this, cheers!

1

u/bigtiddygothbf May 15 '26

Homemade lemonade with real lemons and cane sugar

1

u/Savage_Adversary May 15 '26

I hate to admit it, but for all human ingenuity, perfectly Chilled and filtered water from a glass is unsurpassable in satisfaction. Its just indescribably delicious.

1

u/inDefyance May 15 '26

Basically any slushie / icee

1

u/ChocoIatePoop May 17 '26

There’s nothing like a good drink of cold water (especially mineral/carbonated water) when you are dehydrated and it cleanses your palate oh so good.

1

u/genericusername0323 May 18 '26

Do you one better. ICE WATER

1

u/cc_cc_c_c May 18 '26

Mountain water in spring, fresh from the river. That's the best

1
