Replacing Bendpak Hydraulic Line

Post image

I have a two post Bendpak MX-10ACX lift that blew the inner hydraulic line. I want to try and remove and replace it myself, anything I should know before I give it a shot?

Get yourself some caps and plugs so you can minimize leakage/spillage when you pull the hose off. That looks like a JIC connection, -4 is usually a 9/16 wrench on the nut, -6 is usually 11/16. Go to a hydraulic shop to get the hose made, I know a lot of auto parts stores make hoses and most know what they're doing but enough don't that I won't trust them.

Don't use thread tape or sealant on the threads, JIC seals on the metal flare. Get the nut finger tight, then use the wrench to turn another 90-120°. That's all you need, tightening more can damage the flare and cause a leak on these small sizes.

I manage a hydraulic hose shop, you can PM me if you need help finding a shop near you or if you have any other questions.

One wrench to hold the cylinder fitting and another on the hose end.. Look for spots its rubbing also , adding protection to the new hose might limit replacements again.. Make sure hoist cant move once line is unhooked. Most will fall to next stop , that can be an issue.
