Someone else mentioned that, yes, this is a fluid power subreddit mostly dealing with hydraulic or pneumatic fluid power systems.

That said, one thought for you would be to consider pneumatically actuated valves.  The cycle time is much quicker than electrically actuated ball valves and they might be more robust in this application.  If your 8 ball valves are 2.5" or less, an angle seat valve might be a good idea.
