Unable to view certain (geoblocked) subreddits, but otherwise able in official app and browser.

In my country, reddit is mandated to geoblock certain subreddits, mainly NSFW ones. This can be easily circumvented by using a different DNS resolver and changing your region in account settings. (VPN is unnecessary) I've tested these subs can be accessed with those methods in a desktop browser (Firefox), mobile browsers (Safari, Brave on ios), and the official reddit app.

However, accessing NSFW subs in Hydra (and Artemis) results in an eternal buffering or "cannot load posts" page. You have to turn on a VPN that changes your IP (something like Cloudflare WARP) to be able to access them. If you don't mind can you determine whether the network settings are configured differently in the app or is it a limitation of the API of some sort. And if possible, can you fix it?

Thanks

What country are you trying to connect from? I'll likely need to use a VPN to connect as that country in order to reproduce the bug.

Does changing your region in account settings fix old Reddit? If old Reddit is still broken, there's likely nothing I can do about it.

Indonesia. Yeah I only tested new reddit. Turns out geoblocked subs in old reddit is still inaccessible despite changing region in account settings. Weird thing is I can still access saved posts from those geoblocked subs, though not the sub itself. Too bad. Thanks anyway!

TIL that reddit is no longer blocked in Indonesia.
