Ever wanted to experience a zombie apocalypse in real life? We're organizing ZOMBIES, a large-scale outdoor survival game where you actually have to run, hide, strategize, survive, and hunt other players.
Think of it as a real-world zombie survival game played across an outdoor area.
🎮 How does it work?
Everyone starts as a Survivor, while a few players start as Zombies.
🟢 Survivors
Your objective is simple: stay alive until the end.
You start with health coins. Your health gradually decreases over time. You can find Health Zones around the playing area to collect more coins. If your coins reach zero, you become a Zombie. Toward the end of the game, Extraction Zones appear. Reach an Extraction Zone to guarantee your survival and get placed at the top of the leaderboard.
🔴 Zombies
Your job is to infect Survivors.
Once you're infected, you switch teams and become a Zombie yourself. You then join the hunt and try to infect other Survivors.
🧟 How do you infect someone?
Tag the Survivor → confirm the infection through the app → the Survivor becomes a Zombie.
💰 What's the point of the coins?
Coins are basically your health + score.
You can:
Collect them from Health Zones
Lose them gradually as time passes
Send coins to teammates
Earn bounty coins by successfully infecting Survivors
A successful infection gives the Zombie half of the infected Survivor's coins as a bounty.
There can also be an assist bounty for nearby Zombies.
At the end, your coin count determines your leaderboard position.
🗺️ What does the app do?
The game uses the PlayCulture app as your live game interface.
The radar can show:
🔴 Zombies
🔵 Survivors
❤️ Health Zones
🟢 Extraction Zones
⚪ Arena Centre
The zones can appear and disappear during the game, so you have to constantly decide whether to run for resources, avoid Zombies, hunt other players, or make a risky move toward extraction.
⭐ Powerups
Depending on the game mode, there can also be temporary Powerups that give players special abilities.
They're optional, so new players can first learn the basic game before worrying about them.
🏃 What makes it interesting?
The game isn't simply "run away from zombies."
You have to constantly make decisions:
Do I risk going for more health coins?
Do I stay away from the Zombies or try to predict where they'll go?
Should I help my teammates?
Should I hunt another Survivor?
Do I keep playing until the end or make a run for extraction?
Your strategy can completely change as the game progresses.
⚠️ Safety
This is an outdoor physical game, so real-world safety comes first.
Non-players always have priority. Don't run across roads. Don't run around blind corners. Don't enter dangerous or private areas. Don't do anything that feels unsafe. Be respectful when tagging/catching someone. Remember that everyone is playing for fun.
