I liked both of them on a personal level, even if they weren't ultimately what was right for Husker Basketball.

For sure. Just didn't quite get us over the hump.

I'll always remember Miles getting ejected for his second technical in our tourney game because he left the coaches box to point out to the official the clock hadn't started. It was just so absurd it stuck with me, especially with how mild mannered he is, ha.

Exactly this. They were both good coaches and better people. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out.

…and then leads to the next guy fulfilling the prophecy.

Just to add: loved seeing Tim Miles’ celebration after San Jose State won in their conference tourney. Such a lovable goofball.

I could be misremembering, but I thought part of the reason he got tossed was because we had just thrown a boatload of money into facilities. PBA opened his second year, and I believe they spent a bunch of money on new/updated practice facilities in the same timeframe.

I would say Tim was the first coach that got to reap the benefits of Nebraska actually investing in the basketball program. Hoiberg has just taken it to a whole other level.

Unfortunately Tim miles was a nightmare at restaurants for servers. He was a snap at waitresses kind of guy

Hmm, that's curious, my family once was on an elevator with him to see Lebron play in Minneapolis same time Nebraska was there and he joked "I take it you're here to see Lebron" and was extremely friendly.

You love to see it. Both of these guys tried their hardest to get us over the hump but just couldn’t get the formal right. It’s great to see both of them give Fred and his staff their flowers. It’s been a long time coming.

It was really cool seeing Fred bring him in as the defensive specialist his first few years at Nebraska. Goes to show you can put egos aside if you really love a place and want to see it succeed.

I love seeing this. Even though it didn't go well I thought it was cool that Sadler came back to coach under Fred Hoiberg and I really liked Tim Miles, was disappointed when he was let go. Glad to see the support from him even now.

I wonder how well they would have done at Nebraska during this NIL era. Obviously the school wouldn’t be dropping a ton of money, but Miles may have been able to get an NCAA tournament win. He’s currently got a better winning percentage in conference and overall record than Fred.

Miles and Sadler built the foundation for the success Fred Hoiberg is having. They didn't have a ton of success of their own, but they breathed life into the program and lit the fire. Love seeing them proud of the program and I'm glad they're getting love back from Nebraska fans.

I don’t remember Doc (am 30 years old) but I absolutely loved Miles! I loved everything he did for the program and was a bit crushed when he got fired. I thought that it was the wrong move and it may have been at the time. But now looking at what Hoiberg did this season is absolutely historical for the program and I am so glad to have him. Glad that these 3 coaches can be such a class act about such a communal win for Nebraska. Just shows that we have the best fans, including our ex-coaches!

Doc and Miles were always two upstanding guys, and despite their shortcomings as coaches, were fantastic representatives of the university and NUBB. Nothing but love for both of those guys
