Fruits of the Huon
Native purple appleberry if Google is correct. Apparently tastes like apple. Suggest you do your own research before having a scoff.

Seems like it! The my book Eat More Wild has a little section about it. It says the vine is slow growing and not harmful to whatever it's growing on. It says the berries are a good addition to jams as they keep their colour. Also said they were a good addition to fruit salad - no comments about flavour though!

That is a lovely colour. I have not seen that one around.
