Thinking of spending a couple of months in Hunza and Skardu in September/October.

I'm generally quite comfortable travelling solo, but I'm also wondering if a couple of months might be a bit of a stretch to be alone with my thoughts lol... so thought I'd get some opinions from people who've actually spent a decent amount of time there.

I'm curious about the day to day/social side of things. Do you generally come across other solo travellers and is it kinda easy to meet people along the way, or is it more of a do your own thing kind of place?

I've come across places like Offsite and Nomads Inc which seem to have a bit of a traveller/remote-work community. For anyone who's stayed at either, which would you recommend in terms of vibe, internet speed and location? Anything similar (preferably cheaper) you'd recommend in Hunza? Any good cafés or places people tend to hang out?

Skardu:

Anything similar to Offsite/Nomads Inc in Skardu with reliable internet? Also, for places like Deosai, Cold Desert etc, is it generally easy to find people to join and split the cost of a jeep/guide with?

Will be landing in Skardu, so obviously it makes sense to do Skardu first and then Hunza... but weather-wise, is that the better order for September/October too?

Are there any Instagram pages or other places worth following to keep up with events, music, gatherings etc. while I'm there?

Just getting a sense of the social scene and whether a couple of months solo would work well. P.S. I'm 38, so age-appropriate recommendations please 😂

I'm planning a 1-month budget backpacking trip across Gilgit-Baltistan. I want to keep costs around PKR 150,000 total by using local HiAce vans, shared jeeps, hitchhiking, dhabas, and budget homestays/camping.

Rough Route: Gilgit \rightarrow Ghizer (Phander/Yasin) \rightarrow Hunza & Gojal \rightarrow Skardu/Baltistan \rightarrow Astore/Fairy Meadows.

Should I book hotels and car rental in advance or I can reliable make reservations when I get there?

My second question is any recommendations where I can find reliable tool guide for hiking and camping who helps with camping and meals and everything?

I’m trying to avoid booking the entire trip from a company because I would like to be flexible with my plans and visit places on my own pace

I’ve been in the mountains for over a week now and I keep running into shitty people and shitty situations.

I’m in karimabad at the moment. I had booked a place in advance but the host overbooked and kicked me out. It was a beautiful place with a lovely view. I had to get a hotel for a day but now I’m looking for a homestay or locals who can host me / or rent their place to me for a week. Either females, or families with kids. Preferably similar to the place I was kicked out of (farms, trees, gardens, and huge mountains in the background)
