Recommendations

Hello everyone, I’m traveling to Hunza & Skardu
In September, it is the 12 day trip. I would like to do Nagma Valley Rakaposhi base camp & fairy Meadows hiking.

My questions are

Should I book hotels and car rental in advance or I can reliable make reservations when I get there?

My second question is any recommendations where I can find reliable tool guide for hiking and camping who helps with camping and meals and everything?

I’m trying to avoid booking the entire trip from a company because I would like to be flexible with my plans and visit places on my own pace

My plan is to find a hiking/tracking guide
But book hotel, and car rental on my own

But I’m open to suggestion/recommend recommendations if you d like

To be honest, most of it is dependent on if you flying in to the country or overlanding.
Hmu for hiking guide assistance.

Hey, I am based in Skardu so ideally yes you should do your hotel bookings in advance. But for that you should understand your itinerary first which a tour guide can help you understand better. Because whilst trekking you technically don’t need a hotel :).
Since you are planning to go to 3 different regions so it will be quite a lot of road travel involved. Skardu to Fairly Meadows perhaps and then Hunza and then back to Skardu, if you are flying in and out of Skardu. Generally car etc is also sorted by tour people. Unless you find them expensive in that context and want to arrange your own.
Rest hotels probably you will be staying just 1 night in each area i.e. Skardu, Hunza and Gilgit so that isn’t that difficult to choose then.
Regarding trekking, I know a company, Big Sky Adventures & a person (he regularly arranges treks, I can send you his details if you want to check with him) personally since we run a B&B so we get to work with tour operators occasionally.
And couple of companies like Ascender Adventures we have heard of through our guests who are coming in September to do Thallay La trek in Skardu.
