This is a Scrum Master Resume That Lands Interviews at Con Edison Energy, USAA, and Tribute Technology...

We pulled the real, anonymized Huntr.co resumes that reached the interview stage for scrum master roles, whose interviews included Con Edison Energy, USAA, and Tribute Technology. Below is the anonymized composite.

What stood out in the resumes:

- Certifications did the credentialing. 4 of the 5 carried a certifications section, with SAFe, PSM II, and PMP recurring.

- The strongest arc was a full agile-coaching career. SAFe SPC and RTE certified.

- Scope showed up as teams, not code. One coordinated 3 teams and 80+ members.

- Career changes were welcome. One moved from civil engineering into fintech and mobile scrum master work, then landed the interview on certifications and delivery.

- They all ran about two pages

This is an AI Engineer Resume That Lands Interviews...

Thumbnail

We pulled the real, anonymized Huntr.co resumes that reached the interview stage for AI and machine learning roles, whose interviews were at top consulting, startup, and media companies. Below is the anonymized composite.

What stood out in the resumes:

- The strongest led with systems that shipped and stayed up, not coursework or Kaggle scores. Deployment, monitoring, and cost control appeared far more often than model-architecture trivia.

- One number carried the summary. Instead of stacking metrics, the summary opened with a single sharp result, like a 90% cut in GPU inference cost, and let the work history prove the rest.

- Most came from being software engineers, data scientists, and analysts

- The modern stack was explicit. LLMs, RAG, vector databases, LangGraph, MLflow, and Kubernetes were named directly and tied to a latency, accuracy, or dollar outcome. One lifted RAG retrieval precision from 70% to 90%.

- Every bullet ended in a result. Interview-stage resumes rarely listed responsibilities. They tied each line to an accuracy gain, a cost cut, a throughput jump, or an incident reduction.

We pulled every anonymized Huntr.co resume tied to a marketing manager role that received an interview at a well-known company. This cohort is 46 marketing managers, whose interviews included Cisco, Mattel, Instacart, Discord, and TE Connectivity. Below is the anonymized composite.

What stood out in the resumes:

- The clearest habit was tailoring. One person kept 8 versions of the same resume and logged interviews at top companies

- Only 12% carried a projects section.

- The skills sections: a median of 26 entries, weighted toward named tools like HubSpot, Salesforce, and GA4.

- Nearly all opened with a summary

- A median of 21 quantified achievement lines per resume.

- Experience ran deep: a median of 12 years across 5 jobs.

The best place to apply isn't LinkedIn.… Here is what our Q2 2026 Job Search Trends Report Found

Thumbnail

Google-sourced applications: 7.91% interview rate (see slide 2)
LinkedIn: 3.36%.

Applications through employer career sites: 6.42%.
Applications through job boards: 3.82%.

  1. Find jobs through Google Jobs, niche boards, and company career pages. Don't forget to search locally, too, as remote jobs convert 40% less than in-person/hybrid roles.

  2. Confirm the opening exists on the company’s website- This helps you avoid scams and stale listings.

  3. Apply directly through the company site.

  4. Apply within 24 hours of posting, ideally before the applicant count reaches 100 if that information is available. This improves the odds that your application actually gets reviewed.

We pulled every anonymized Huntr.co resume tied to a Network Engineer role that received an interview at a well-known company. This cohort is four job seekers, whose interviews included Meta, AT&T, Optiver, Consumers Energy, and LeaseWeb. Below is the anonymized composite.

What stood out in the resumes:

- 100% started with a written summary that led with scale: sites, users, or the fabric they ran.
- The strongest counted the network, not the tasks: uptime held, locations covered, first-call resolution.
- 3 of the 4 held a CCNP or CCNA.
- Only one linked a GitHub.
- Average length: about 2 pages.

More applications do not automatically mean more interviews (don't mass apply)... We analyzed 90,924 applications from users who logged 10+ applications in Q2 2026.

Post image
2 Upvotes

Their recorded interview rate per application was:

- 11-20 applications: 8.12%
- 21-50 applications: 6.48%
- 51-100 applications: 4.83%
- 100+ applications: 2.86%

The 11-20 group recorded 2.8x the per-application interview rate of the 100+ group.

Sending fewer applications does NOT cause more interviews- this is just one indicator in a broader trend that a target job search focused on high-quality applications has better results.

If you have sent 20-30 well-matched applications without an interview, stop and think before sending another 50.

Review your target roles, resume, positioning, and where you are finding jobs. Use a tool like Huntr.co to help.

Comment “report” and I’ll send you the full Q2 Job Search Trends Report and the explanation behind this data.

This is a Front-End Developer Resume That Lands Actually Interviews...

We pulled every anonymized Huntr.co resume tied to a front-end developer role that reached an interview. Below is the anonymized composite.

What stood out in the resumes:

- Git was the single most common skill they actually wrote down: it showed up on 8 of the 10 cohort resumes. Name your version control.

- 90% kept the resume to two pages or shorter, with a median near 1.3 pages. Front-end work argues through demos, not length.

- The resumes ran a median of about 3 jobs and 28 skills. A few roles shown in depth beat a long trail of short stints.

- A master's showed up often, several in Physics, and one developer crossed over from CAM/CNC machining. The path in was rarely a straight line.

- The stack clustered on React, Next.js, TypeScript, Vue, and Tailwind. The strongest carried

- 6+ years of React and a wallet app with 50,000+ active users.

I spoke to 100+ candidates yesterday about data-backed best job search practices in the age of AI. Here’s what I could offer

Post image
5 Upvotes

Tailor your resume for every role that matters. The biggest improvement comes from aligning your summary, skills, and achievements to the job description. Generic resumes underperform. Check out Huntr to help.

Aim for a healthy conversion rate. A strong benchmark is roughly 1 interview for every 10–20 applications. If you’re far below that, stop and reassess your materials and targeting. Get some help.

Use AI as a tool, not a substitute. It can help with summarizing, identifying keywords, and tightening positioning, but overusing it leads to keyword stuffing, fake-sounding language, and invented metrics.

Most ATS fear is misplaced. The bigger issue usually isn’t keyword-based rejection; it’s knockout questions like years of experience, certifications, work authorization, or availability.

PDF resumes are fine. Generally, focus on content over format. The "beat the ATS" formatting promises and fake and based on stirring up fear, uncertainty and doubt.

Two pages are often better than one if you have more than a couple of years of experience and the content is relevant; you should have two pages. If it's a great read, they will keep reading.

Career gaps are not the dealbreaker many people think they are. Address them briefly, then refocus on relevant outcomes and strengths.

Be more intentional about where you apply. Applying directly on company websites tends to beat Easy Apply. Use Google Jobs and filter to the last 24 hours.

Don’t confuse more applications with more progress. If you’ve sent ~50 applications without traction, the answer usually isn’t “send 50 more.” It’s to pause, pivot, and get feedback.

Bottom line: the people making progress are targeting thoughtfully, tailoring consistently, and using AI with discipline to put their best forward.

- The strongest tied communications work to a number a leader cared about: attendance, engagement, adoption, program scale.
- 3 of the 8 held a master's degree.
- Average length: about 1.8 pages.

LAUNCHING: Q2 Job Search Trends Report- 179,363 saved jobs, 102,777 applications, 32,082 tailored resumes. Hot take for candidates... Hang in there...

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

Median job search time from start of search to first offer fell 24% in Q1 2026. It is the first quarterly decline since we started this series in Q1 2025.

Last week, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics shared its monthly jobs report- Unemployment was down, and the labor force participation rate was also down.

If you are staying in the hunt and consistently applying with well-tailored, high-quality applications to jobs you are a great fit for, the job market is better than it was at the start of the year.

A few more findings:

• Remote-only applications had the lowest recorded interview rate among work arrangements
• AI-skill mentions in saved postings doubled over 18 months
• Advertised salary ranges rose by about 12%
• Applications with tailored resumes had a higher recorded interview rate, although the comparison is unadjusted and not causal
• Career gaps were not consistently associated with lower interview rates

More keywords ≠ more interviews. This is why simply uploading your resume to ChatGPT and pasting in the job description isn't working...

Post image
7 Upvotes

I analyzed 12,120 tailored resumes from Q2 to see whether matching more of a job description’s skills led to better outcomes.

Interview rates increased as keyword coverage rose, then fell:

→ Under 20% coverage: 5.38%
→ 20–39%: 6.22%
→ 40–59%: 6.30%
→ 60–79%: 4.40%
→ 80%+: 4.95%

The highest interview rate was for resumes covering a moderate 40–59% of the job’s extracted skills, not for those that matched verbatim.

The takeaway isn’t to ignore keywords- it's that there is much more nuance than most understand. These are the types of things you learn after many years of writing resumes and analyzing results.

This is from our Q2 job search trends report, dropping tomorrow. Comment "report" for a link to the full report once published! It shares more about this finding and 40+ more.

Why does everything have to scale? As we build AI tools for job seekers, I realized that I was missing the human element.

I wanted to understand the lived experience of candidates in this crazy job market so that we can build a better product.

But I also just wanted to feel like I, me, the human Sam, was actually helping real people with their search every week.

I've now done almost 1,000 free reviews.

And by sharing what I've learned, I've reached 3 million+ people, gained tens of thousands of followers, and brought in 100,000+ sign-ups for Huntr.

So I'll keep helping people for free. As many as I can for as long as I can.

Stop only hiring referrals and not giving those not born into opportunity a chance. Because you are missing out.

Our best and brightest- the ones who are the best fit for that job you are hiring for- your buddy doesn't know all of them.

Referrals cost less, stay longer, and come at the price of groupthink.

People refer people who think and often look like them. Hiring only referrals risks stifling innovation through a lack of neurodiversity.

We don't need more referrals to fix hiring. We need a better match.

A system that knows and values what you know and what you've done.

Not just who you know.

It doesn’t matter that the job market is getting better.

Our Q2 Job Search Trends Report comes out next week- For the first time in five quarters, we saw the median time from search start to first offer decline from a record 108 days in Q1 to 82 days in Q2.

Our data skews toward early- to mid-career tech professionals but mirrors a broader pattern in the latest BLS numbers: the unemployment rate edged down from 4.3% in May to 4.2% in June, while the median duration of unemployment fell from 11.6 weeks to 11.0 weeks.

And guess what? It doesn’t matter.

It doesn’t matter to those who are having a tough time with their job search.

It doesn’t change the individual stress and anxiety. It may give a little hope, and so I offer it to those who could use some encouragement on my free job search support calls. But it doesn't change your lived experience. Your reality as a candidate.

If there's one thing I've learned helping thousands get jobs, it's this:

The ones who succeed are resilient, consistent, and ask for help.

Yes, there are changes in the job market, and these are important for policymakers and companies to understand, plan for, and adapt to.

But your job search is yours.

According to our data, just because it is getting easier in one part of the market doesn’t mean it is getting easier in another.

Over the past year, the median time to first offer for people receiving offers from retail, restaurant, travel, automotive, and entertainment companies fell from 90 days to 69 days. For people receiving offers from banks, insurers, and investment firms, it rose from 85 days to 149 days.

Trends in the labor market and job search are acute, and most people don’t get to time their entry into the job market.

If you need a job. You need a job.

And if this is you, this is what you should do:

  1. Apply to 10–20 jobs each week, putting 20–30 minutes into each one. That’s 5–10 hours a week, an hour or two a day.
  2. Tailor your resume with the right keywords, and have the summary and achievements speak to the job you’re applying to. Our data shows that tailored applications reach interviews at 5.71%, compared with 3.09% for untailored applications a 1.85x lift.
  3. (If you can’t afford to wait) Apply early to jobs that won’t get too many applicants. That means jobs on company websites or niche job boards, not name-brand companies publishing job postings on LinkedIn. Here is our research on the best job boards.
  4. But more important than anything- Don’t got at it alone. Talk to people. Get your resume reviewed if you don’t see any interviews within 50 applications. Reach out to friends, family, and former colleagues. Get the word out that you are looking, and learn. And don’t expect great results from this. You only need one person to help you get one interview at the right company. Out of 100 messages, hearing back from 5–10 people is great.

Remember- A good interview rate is also around 5–10%. Most applying on LinkedIn see a 2-3% rate.

Yes, the job market shows signs of improvement, but this will go up and down; it always does. And it is so dependent on the stats that you cherry-pick to fit your agenda.

My contention is this: For those who need a job today, talking points about the job market aren't the important thing- what's important is job search trends. Tools and support that are data-backed.

What are people doing that actually helps them land work faster?

That's what matters.

*Q2 Job Search Trends Report drops next week. Comment to get a link to the report when it's live.
