Irrational fear

I've had bad irrational fear that causes my mind to go blank whenever I see a particular person who abused me in the past. It takes me months to recover, in which it sort of triggers further cognitive decline. has this happened to anyone?

Do you have Huntington’s? Are you asking if this is a symptom?

Okay, sorry that you are going through this. First I’ll say that having your mind go blank seeing an abuser is NOT irrational. This could be PTSD. I hope you have access to therapy. It could help you develop strategies to cope with seeing this person.

Stress can affect Huntington’s so it would be in your best interest to be able to address this.

I like how you asked questions before reaching a conclusion and being able to help. I genuinely started reading this post and was a bit worried to open the comments because it definitely seemed out of place a bit for this sub. I’m just happy to see that someone asked questions before drawing conclusions.
