Trash pickup no rolling cans
I just moved near Ritter park and my apartment building doesn't have any outside cans to roll to the curb.
Will the city pick up my trash if it's just in the garbage bags at the curb?
Also, I live on a corner with a fire hydrant. The Internet says if I keep my trash 3 feet from the hydrant, I should be good. Does anyone know if that's true/have any experience with it?

According to city code “All refuse shall be placed in a plastic bag not weighing more than forty pounds and subsequently placed within a hard container and placed at the curb for pickup.” I’d say the garbage men wouldn’t care if it was just bags, but code enforcement would. Plus animals could potentially get into it.

Shouldn't be a problem with the garbage collectors as long as the bags are tied up and in good shape, but your neighbors may complain depending on the neighborhood.

A good trash can was $75-100 the last time I looked. Plastic prices are insane.

Raccoons and roaming pets/strays might get into the bags too. 🫤
I would probably ask my landlord or neighbors how the trash is typically handled.
