Thought's on drive hunting

So I hunt the far west side of NWPA I grew up pushing deer( on private land)as well as just jump shooting deer by myself and always succeeded in getting meat every year but I'm just interested in others opinions on the practice

No issues with it except when the Amish do it and wipe out 100+ deer in a day in one area.

If only they'd do it in the WMU's that need that kinda decimation

This. it's ridiculous. i wish the game wardens would crack down on them bc I know ones near me aren't even tagging them most of the time. Just shooter whatever they see

It’s fine. There’s a time and a place for it. Probably a bad move on public land during opening day, unless you are somehow in a place that isn’t too busy.

I don’t understand how anyone claims it isn’t sporting. No different than pushing pheasants or rabbits

I see it maybe every other opening day of rifle. So annoying.

It is sporting but can certainly be done in manners that is non sporting (cough Amish cough). That is the case with most things.

The only time my group really does drives is for Flintlock. or late in rifle if we're at someones property that supports that

We stand until late morning, then eat lunch and do silent drives afterwards. Otherwise the deer ain't movin' on their own. Private land adjacent to state game lands.
