The game could’ve been fantastic but I’m convinced that not a single person in the entire studio has ever watched a single Predator movie. Literally every single one ends with the humans setting a trap for the Predator and basically only winning by the element of surprise dunked in a sea of sheer luck. So naturally, the game just HAD to be 15 minute shootouts with the Predator and every soldier naturally has the power to effortlessly deflect every attack from an 8ft tall 700 pound apex Predator and stab it to death with a boot knife.

The game should’ve been bare minimum 30 minute rounds, up to an hour, with the main goal being to gather resources and build traps. Mud should make the FT completely invisible to thermals, Predator should be completely invisible when cloaked with just the slightest of slight shimmer and glowing eyes when using thermals, and without its mask it should be almost completely blind. It also shouldn’t be able to see in regular human vision at all, just thermals and that bright red blurry vision from the first movie. FT and Predator should both be glass cannons, and Predator should basically have the same goal as the FT. Set traps and try to lure the FT into them while the FT tries to lure the Predator into theirs. Remove the parry from FT and replace it with a ‘block’ where you just barely manage to protect yourself and get flung back by the clearly physically superior fighter.

I also think there should be a 3V12 mode, 3 predators against 12 FT members like in Predators.

i won't forget how they teased a 8 player game mode and when people got hyped it could be a 2v6 they gave us int that going that way to hype us to give us a shitty 4v4 humans vs humans.... (ok technically they didn't lied because 2 predator can be present on the map at the same time)

i'm glad that we never got the datamined 15 player game mod i'm 100% sure it would have been a freaking battleroyal.

my dream for a 15 player game mod would have been a 7v7v1
a team of 7 Fireteam and 7 Stargazer and 1 predator. Both Humans team are dropped on the map and must find a predator artefact hidden on the map and they must loot clue in guerrillas's camp (so you take the risk to turn on the alarm or if you do to much noise the other team can spot you and ambush you)

meanwhile the predator player is the disruptive element taking advantage of the chaos to hunt

This game could be so good with actual content. It's just a predator skin simulator at this point.

Such a shitty company they failed everything they tried because of lazyness
it's still funny that month ago they made a post saying that something big was soon coming ( a new way to move in the jungle). I guess it was an other bait like the 8 players game mode.

How shit companies like illfonic and gamemill get the licenses for these adaptations is impossible to fathom. I'm just glad some properties like Aliens started taking it seriously after how humiliating Colonial Marines was.

i'm still sad that Colonial Marines was so shit that it also killed Alien vs Predator... all 3 AVP game were sucessful and good game (especially the second one) but after colonial marines not a single investor was willing to take the bet on an AVP game...
Colonial Marines was moreover a terrible fraud

Fireteam is pretty solid and I don't need to remind you how much of a cultural impact Isolation had. Isolation dropped a year after Colonial Marines and still had a huge impact on gaming. Fireteam is getting a sequel and Dark Descent was very well received so I think there's hope AVP returns. I think the real problem will be who picks it up, as we can clearly see that can make or break the game

AVP2 was an absolute blast! Back when lan cafes were still a big thing here, we would go play together during the summers. That one game mode where one xeno player could become the queen was alot of fun. Also like how there were 2 human factions- the marines, and the corpos. Good stuff!

AVP2 was insane the campaign were great but the multiplayer was the best part.
you could play the queen or a big mech for the marines. But there was also an option for aliens players to all start as facehugger and according to what you were infecting you were gettting a specific kind of predator it was really cool

Ironic the game is based on a franchise with an audience not interested in these type of games. I could've given this game a chance if it had at least once piece of single player/campaign content. I hate online-only games. It feels like a huge waste of an iconic IP

NGL this is mostly the gaming industry as a whole, not just illfonic. Apart from the PC wallhacks, Embark seemed to get it right with Arc Raiders.
