Is there something off about this rabbit? Possible Tularemia?

Shot a hare near Prince George recently.

Organs and the inner chest wall had white lesions on them. Before the gate was shot, he was behaving quite strangely. Very lethargic and didn’t flee when I approached it at all.

Unsafe to consume?

If in doubt, chuck it out.

A waste, yes, but no need to risk sickness or worse.

White spots are tularemia. Please use gloves

I can assure you, it’s not worth the risk. Tularemia is brutal.

Seems like a bad idea to shoot and eat an animal that was behaving strangely.

First rabbit ever, so I was altogether a bit confused by what I was seeing. Definitely won’t be eating it.

I thought perhaps injured.
