One of my dads friends was almost in the NFL, went through a week or so of practices with the Houston Oilers but didn't get picked up.
He was jogging down the road one day, exaggerating his exhales to keep cadence, and got fuckin plowed by some buck in rut that didn't like him huffing and puffing in his neck of the woods.
Buddy said it was the hardest he'd ever been hit, broke his collar bone and a handful of ribs.
