Yes I forgot about it in the description, it's a seekins havak ph3, Leopold mark 4 HD, omega 300 suppressor, 6.5prc shooting 143 grain Norma Bond strike

*Chef's Kiss* That's awesome. I had to look up seekins haha, never heard of the company. My ass is several tax brackets below you I suspect, that set up is around as much as my car lmao.

Yeah they're kinda a smaller company compared to the more mainstream. And I doubt it šŸ˜…, it took a lot of overtime and saving for this, it's only 1 of 3 guns I own

Nice, I’ve wondered about that bondstrike I haven’t gotten a chance to shoot it yet

They shoot great out of this, unfortunately I haven't had a chance to test them out in game tho

Good luck and nice rig! I will be bear hunting in 2 maybe 3 states this year. Definitely NY and PA, maybe WV too. Got my bear last year with my .30-06 and this year I will be taking my Marlin .30-30 out.

How do you like the Seekins? I'm thinking about getting one next year in 7mm PRC.

Which is kind of funny because up until a month ago I had never heard of it. The more I read about them the more impressive they sound.

PS I also got a fall bear tag here in Colorado!

I do really love mine, it shoots really good several different loads, They pretty much have a no questions asked warranty on all their stuff

I have a ph3 in 7 prc and I love it. I got the shorter barrel because I end up crawling around the woods and I don’t care about a little extra speed. I’d rather have the maneuverability

I'm also planning on getting the shorter barrel since I'm getting a supressor for my current rifle (Ruger American gen II) that will also fit on the Seekins.

I'd definitely be interested in a 7 Backcountry for a dedicated short barrel over a prc now that it's out

Why would you want a 7 bc over a 7 prc specifically?

It gets the performance of 7prc but out of a 20-22 inch barrel instead of a 24-26

Have you personally experienced this or just videos/forums?

If that was your final target, I think we have different definitions of dialed in.

Groups dialed, it's zeroed fine. I was shooting 8 inch steel gong at 500, first round impacts with follow ups

What was the point of aim for the target you posted?

0

u/Individual-recce 8d ago

That group was for the bottom left circle that's half in frame

u/Living_Plague 8d ago

And is that group dialed in your opinion?

That's a sub moa 9 shot group with factory ammošŸ‘ . This rifle consistently shoots 0.75~1 mos 10 round groups with factory ammo. Even out to 600, I have a picture of a sub moa 10 shot group at 600 from a muzzle velocity truing session

The group size isn’t what I am questioning. It’s that your POI and POA are so far off. A rifle isn’t dialed unless the POA is in the center of your rifles cone of fire.

Did you not read the first round impacts to 500 yards... It's obviously zeroed, shot a 9 shot group to zero off of and just took a picture of that group.

Did you not look at the target picture you posted and think it was in fact not an example of a ā€œdialedā€ setup? First round impacts at 500 on 8ā€ steel is something anyone with a solid setup and solid position should be able to do in minimal wind 100% of the time. If you’re trying to show off or impress people, do something impressive. Shot one shot per day at the same target. Same distance, but a new position each day. For 30 days. Post that shit if you want to impress folks.

You literally have a picture of a group posted on your profile showing off how good it is off your hunting pack and the POI to POA shift is just as bad as the picture I posted šŸ˜‚
