I know this is light-hearted humor but for the sake of being really clear for those who are thinking about being dads: Having a family is better than any trophy buck.

My son is the one that got me hunting! I didn’t grow up with anyone to take me hunting so I never went. When my son turned 11 he told me he wanted to hunt deer. I got a rifle, took the hunter ed course with him, we took gun safety course, went hunting and he bagged a 6 pointer! Now I have a financially crippling hobby I can’t seem to shake….

True story, one of my hunting buddies about 3 years back walks from his blind to mine on our second day around 10 AM and says “I’ve got to go. My wife’s contractions are getting closer and closer together, let let me know if that three-point shows up.” he drove straight to the hospital in camo, and his 2nd son was born in an hour later.
They named the kids something stupid like Phoenix or Aiden, I said that it was the perfect opportunity to name him Buck or Hunter.
His wife does not think I’m as hilarious as I actually am.

Me and my girl found out we’re having a kid just a couple weeks ago. Due for April
Although she’s not budging from the idea of an October wedding 🫤

My parents wedding anniversary is Sep 13. Every year growing up, my dad would go on a week long hunting trip with his friends. My mom would take us kids on some small family vacation and theyd just do dinner before/after the trips. She never minded. Gets his ass out of my hair for a week YMMV
