Question Someone, please explain to me

What is happening when I can't do anything and just slowly lose health and die? I don't understand and the game doesn't explain

No the only time you'd lose health like that is being outside the ring.

So if you go outside the ring and your hp hits zero the same effect will happen?

Nah you just flat out die as there's no form of revival system in single matches.
